Kid can play. I don't know why, but i am really excited for next year. I just think we have some pieces we can work with. This kid won't play next year but still.

Had some great games against big teams. Combine that with a year of developing-should be sweet.

he can't play but he can practice.... this will help sanders in his development..... and make the practice team much better, which helps the players develop..... good get by EJ

Sailor, great point. Sanders comes with a strong pass and well be a 14+ win team next year. If we get freeman, 16+. Just my opinion.

Welcome Nigel, another Johnson to add to Ryan and Kejuan. If J&J weren't already thinking of sponsorship they should be.

Great to have a PG like Nigel , even if RU has to wait a year before he plays, in practice he can help

No waiver. Real question is how many heads will turn in practice when johnson is called. Johnson cubed.

Competition in practice is very important. Sanders will have a guy playing against him to push him, get him ready for the B1G and make him better.

Played for an Eddie Jordan coached DC Assault team that included Nate Britt (UNC), Kris Jenkins (Nova), Damonte Dodd (Maryland) and former RU recruit/target Roddy Peters.

I see that his father played defensive back in the NFL for 4 years. This might just give him some toughness. I also checked several Kansas State box scores. In several games he hardly played but near the end of the season he had those 2 outstanding games back to back vs. Kansas and Iowa State. Kansas State lost several guys with transferring and getting suspended or kicked off the team. It appears as if Bruce Weber was having a difficult time or players didn't want to play for him. Any inside information?

People may be critical of our staff, but this transfer appears to be a situation where the grass is greener and Eddie secured this based on his contacts in the DMV.

Johnson's best two seasons are expected here and he played with a crowded backcourt at KState. Ironically, Jevon Thomas was a St. Johns and Seton Hall target out of HS and went to KState at the same time Johnson did and shared backcourt duty with Nigel. Thomas may resurface at Seton Hall and wind up matching up against Johnson here at RU, since we play SHU every year.

Welcome aboard! Looks like a talent upgrade. Go look at his offers coming out of high school. Quite an interesting mix.

I told my friend Rutgers basketball got this kid and he was very surprised. Seems to think very highly of Johnson. I think this is a solid get and EJ &co did a great job.

Where is the 'wake Jordan and staff up' guy? He (78) is confirmed as a Jordan hater that knows nothing about how hard this staff is working.

Another thread confirmed that Rutgers and SHU are working Salvnave (sp) the hardest.

Yeah the EJ haters run like rats from a sinking ship when there is good news especially when it comes to EJ's recruiting efforts.
The staff seems to be leaving no stone unturned, can't fault them for a lack of effort. Best wishes to Nigel, welcome to RU.

One more ship available. Based on the current guys it looks like Jordan may play a 3 guard uptempo pressing team with Sanders, Daniels, Williams, an athletic smaller 4 and a big. When the game slows down he can go with shooters with Goode, Johnson and Lewis with his mid range shot. The team will have options, they can even go big with Diallo and Shaq.

Chop -- I tried to be positive in this thread, but I guess that's not permitted. So, here's another thought -- let's hope that there are more gems out there that EJ coached in AAU ball who aren't getting enough PT at their current schools.

Only time will tell. Spending 3 years for 2 years on the court. All this for a guy who didn't get enough PT. Why didn't he get enough PT and why did he feel like he had to transfer?

All these thoughts have to be in the back of your mind if you are a realist.

Grf, take a look at this bio and stats. He can play well against the best teams in the country. ALso he transferred because a lot of other team mates are leaving, too.

He will do well for us. So far on Ej&co-C+/B recruiting. Maybe a sure B given the situations they face.

Nail on the head here. EJ will have options. Next year may not give the win column results we are all looking for but it will be telling of the direction the program is heading. I am very excited.

Everyone is jumping ship at KSU. This year they have had 3 transfers and 6 people total leave the team.

78................

It's not about being positive or negative. It's about being fair. Your criticisms are silly, things like "wake Jordan up" or "Jordan will have more time to nap". Criticizing Macon as a non factor in recruiting when it was Rice that originally hired him. We can certainly debate about Jordan keeping them on for continuity when he was hired a few years ago......that is debatable.

There are recent examples of Jordan and staff working certain recruits the hardest. He may not land them, but, the staff is working hard
