As amazed as I am by the Memphis loss - I’m just as amazed State beat A&M. And that’s why I think we beat Kentucky. We are a decent team. Play bad at times but play well at times also. Nothing about Kentucky says to me we lose at home. If we were at Kentucky - I’d say it’s a L.

Yesterday to me was like playing a weak OOC game. Nothing good could be taken from it. Only bad. State handled it's business and completely dominated them. Ready for next week's game. This to me is a huge game in the Mike Leach tenure.

And damn - playing in the East must be nice. 3 guaranteed wins for teams with a pulse - Vandy, South Carolina, and probably Mizzou.

I think it will be close either way. They're gonna be a tough matchup for our offense, and we're gonna be a tough matchup for their offense.

Expecting a close, lower-scoring game with two ball control offenses.

Im pretty eager to see how we play against them. It will be a big challenge but I think we could come away winners, which would be huge. I didn't get too high after A&M. I was happy but we barely pulled it off. We did exactly what was expected yesterday. Totally blew them out. I was scared they would play down to the competition and allow them to hang around

No joke. Those three plus three non-P5 OOC games every year gets you to six before even looking at the schedule. If State, Louisville, or UT are down in a given year, that’s 8-9 wins without any of them being noteworthy.

Then what happens if you draw Arkansas/OM or a collapsed LSU like this year as your other West opponent, and mess around and upset an overrated Florida?

You can get to 10 wins in a hurry in that division by just not screwing up.

This game will be won in the trenches. They have a pretty physical defensive line and vitally important for the offensive line to have a good game.

It’s going to be a close game.

As usual it just depends on which State team shows up. It's a very winnable game that I think we win.

We should be 'up' for this game, and they should be 'down'.

I mean we just came off the flattest game of the year in Alabama, then we just went on the road in a high school atmosphere. At home against a ranked opponent, I see us having very high energy, especially coming off a win. Conversely, I see no way Kentucky is fired up. Yeah, they had a bye week, but just got beat by Georgia is a humbling game, and have Tennessee at home after us. It's a trap game.

We will have every opportunity to win. If 'Auburn' was written across the jersey, I'd say we lose. But we will probably beat Kentucky.

It’ll be a big win if we can beat Kentucky, but I’m also not going to lose my mind if we lose. I think Vegas had us at 5-7 for the year, which we’ve done already. I’d love to get to 7-5 this season though

I definitely think we can win. I think we match up fairly well against them & im still not sold that they’re that great. I feel a lot better about the rest of the season after seeing Rogers at 100% yesterday.

This game will be decided on the LOS.

Unless some lessons were learned from the bama beat down this could get ugly.

I have seen only 1 team that made Georgia actually have to work/adjust in the trenches on both sides of the ball: Kentucky.

If Lashley is left on an island again, hold on to your collarbones.

Kentucky doesn’t have near the talent on the DL as A&M does. Our OL has played really well for most of the year outside of penalties and some holding calls. Most of our sacks are due to Will holding the ball too long.

And that’s what I look back to and find evidence that this line can hold their own against a good defensive line.

That's what's so frustrating. The schizophrenic nature of not only our team, but our opponents so far this season.

Every Saturday seems to be a new day, and who the hell knows which team will be motivated and execute. Kentucky has been pretty consistent. I hope for them to be lethargic on the road after being beat and having a bye week.

I'd feel a lot better if this was a more typical UK team. Typical as in a Top 50-60ish team with some talent. This UK team is better than typical so our typical win in Starkville is much less assured.

At least they don't have Derek Abney returning kicks.

All signs point to a low scoring slugfest, but since it’s college football and very few things go the way they should, I see State winning 41-38 on a last second field goal from Ruiz.

I have a friend that’s a Texas Tech grad and was at Tech when Leach was there. He texted me after the hire and told me be prepared for him to lose to someone he’s not supposed to and then the next week come out and beat a team that’s favored by 20. I think that’s been pretty accurate.

Yep. That guy who is a WSU fan that posted a thread here after the Michael Leach hire was so spot on, his thread should be written on parchments in Hebrew.

Kentucky is very solid. I do not honestly expect to win but of course its possible. If we beat Ky we should win out. Nobody left is better than Ky. OM might be on the same level. Hopefully we will play a perfect game and maybe get lucky

I think we can definitely beat Kentucky, as long as we don’t beat ourselves (looking at you, offensive line).

I have to admit, OM’s defense looks better than I thought it would. They still have a lot of work to do though. Auburn on the Plains is gonna be tough.

It should be a good game Rogers is gonna have

To run some for us to win it. I like Will but this offense would really take off with a big time Qb that can run when he needs to. Not hating on Will because he’s a great leader and a good Qb but for us to get to the next level we need a QB that can stretch the field with his arm and make you pay with his legs. Matt Corrall is a nightmare for defenses.

I don’t see us wining this game at all but I hope I’m wrong. Kentucky is solidly the 2nd best team in the East & the best team in the East is going to win the SEC & the Natty IMO. .

Rogers has to be better, which he has shown us he can do. We can’t turn the ball over(INTs) like we did Vandy, obviously. I want to believe

The Air Raid is hard to run. Thus, we have good and bad days. When it's working, it's hard to stop. It doesn't always work. We have Rogers who is o.k. and sometimes pretty good, but we have no one else to turn to. We might win and it wouldn't suprise me. It also wouldn't suprise me if we lost. That's what we can expect the next couple of years. So, yeah, I'm confident in saying that we may or may not win. I don't know what to expect from this team.

I don't disagree with any of this.

I think the key will be how much Kentucky brings the blitz and how well we handle it.
