With rosters increasing to 15 players will we be filling out 2025 with a couple more high school seniors or going to the portal exclusively? We suspect we lose two of our freshmen from this class to the draft leaving a class of three sophomores. We have 4 frosh who would make 7 players for 2026 plus several freshman. Jamichael and Ogobole are the only upper classmen I suspect return. To confound this is the lack of NiL

I don’t see Steve looking to have 15 recruited scholarship players on the team, most years he did not fill the 13th spot. Also, JWill can comeback next season. Maybe one more high school player, if the staff really likes him, but the rest of the roster will come from the portal

How do you know we have a lack of NIL
If there’s a player we make it happen
All transfers are getting a minimum of 100K

I believe Derkack also has another year of eligibility after this season.
I think we offered his younger brother ('26) but not sure. I know Nova coaches came up to work him out but those are family connections also.

We didn’t get a center because we either did not want one and thought we were fine or because of NiL numbers ie didnt have the asking price. Do not believe that Steve wanted the center situation we now have. I am sure you agree.

That would be counter to a rumor that has been floated....

A very good p5 starting center can get into seven figures. We saw that with the Michigan transfer to Kansas. Next level down in mid to high 6 figures. These are facts you can verify for yourself. Supreme Cook from East Orange played for Fairfield last year and I assume he received some zNIL. This year he wanted mid 6 figures and got it from SHU. We passed. I complained all last year about our AD not wanting to help get money. Our new AD will need to be the NIL band leader and employ an aggressive staff that can go out and get the money. It’s out there, you have to first find it and then get it. pS I don’t put stock in rumors. I used to write for one of the Rutgers blogs and only published fact which I got from the horses mouth or two verifiable sources.

Supreme Cook left Fairfield for Georgetown last year, and will be playing for Oregon this year.
