I think Pisgah wins. Only because Pisgah will be fresh and Swain has come off an disappointing loss and an emotional win.

Swain 28-14
Wow. I could see it happening though. I just don’t know how to judge Swains opponents. North Buncombe is horrible and they only won 21-0. Andrews beat em last night by 50. Smoky beat Swain but I honestly don’t think Smoky has a whole lot. Franklin beat Murphy and Murphy is somewhat down but they lost to Swain. Just hard to kinda judge how Swain really looks. From what I’ve heard, they are decent on defense but they can’t generate any offense.

I think Swain is the more talented team but if they don’t cut the turnovers out they could be in for another dog fight. From what I’ve seen the past few weeks they don’t ever really look comfortable and appear to be discombobulated as to their assignments on O & D. If they can settle down and execute they will be more than competitive in the near future.

Here's the deal, not many have noticed, but the Devils only have a couple of players going both ways. Then add into mix that this is a very young team leaning on the fly the shot gun Veer. If someone would have said beforehand we'd be 2-1 at this point I'd be happy. I've noticed our Devils Dee is also improving each week also. Yes I know I am biased on the matter, but those that knew me for years ago would tell you I bull S not on what I see.

I think Swain is right on the edge of breaking out with some big game’s. They have the athletes, the size and depth to go on a big run

Swain outplayed Pisgah on both sides of the ball. The Devils ran the ball well and only really struggled when they decided to pass. This would have been much bigger loss if Swain kept it on the ground instead of throwing those two picks. Congrats to Swain. They earned it.

We've got to shore up the offensive and defensive line. They got pushed around most of the night. I hope our injured players recover quickly. Especially the player they brought out the stretcher for. We've got a lot to correct if we're going to make any kind of run at the conference and the playoffs. Those goals are still attainable but we're going to have to have a BIG improvement, quickly. Time to get back to work Bears!

Would you call 147 yards rushing, running the ball well?

Stats don't always tell the whole story. All you had to do was watch the game to see how well they ran it versus their passing game. I was thankful every time they dropped back to pass. I'd love to be able to tell you how stout our run defense was but that simply wasn't the case. If theres a replay of the game take a look and then get back to me.

I wouldn't go as far to say we played a great game and dominated. We still have a lot to clean up. We did run the ball well and broke out some good runs and the ST play was a lot better with coverage. What helped us out on a lot of occasions was Pisgah penalties. Anybody have those stats handy?

I just don't understand it I guess. Back in the day you didn't do that crap. The host team would tell ya to get lost for even asking because they hated you too.
That’s true bear. But the Swain guys asked ours to . Their coach used to be with us and a lot of our guys went there to support them

I’m a little worried that our competition thus far hasn’t been that “good”. Not trying to knock any of the teams. We’ve had moments of great plays but swain is just not consistent enough to beat quality opponents I’m afraid. I am glad we’re winning these games though seems to be a big confidence booster for the kids. Also wish our coaches would stop throwing there hands up after every single flag but there’s a lot of big personalities down there.

Regardless, seems like a major improvement over how it has been the last few years. I've only seen portions of two games on your network, but the kids definitely playing with more discipline and determination

For sure and the flags for unsportsmanlike conduct is from playing hard and not running their mouths like years past. Happy to see that and hope it continues.
