The downside of having multiple first round draft picks is that some may underperform. Great problem to have.
If Newsome has invested his money well then he and his family will be set for life.
Sorta marginal to call him an underperformed when he’s started most of the games of his career and the tram that drafted him picked up his fifth year option.
He has been a starter. A few more years on NFL roster and he will have had a decent NFL career. 1st round pick was a lot to live up to but a multi year starter is a RD 2 - 3 expectation and he met that. Represented NU well and he is not done. Hope he stays healthy.
He (and the rest of the Jaguars secondary) had a tough game in the playoffs against a future HOF QB. That game by itself doesn't define his career.

Newsome ranked 85th out of their 114 cornerbacks this season as a 25YO based on only the regular season, and he had a tough time yesterday.
He has 4 career interceptions… despite playing behind Myles Garrett’s pass rush for most of his career.
He is only 25YO but I expected him to do much more than he has.
Regardless: he got paid.
I don't pay for NFL PFF. I do know his best year was seemingly his first year when he rated quite well and that the Browns had demoted him to CB3, but they still picked up his option so he wasn't a total bust out. It will be interesting to see what contract he gets next. Not every mid first rounder becomes a star.
