I say go get the Liberty AD, that way he can bring in the Baylor culture and bring in Turner Gill. #backtothe90s

Tuco I can never tell when you're trolling and when you're ahead of the curve. I don't want Liberty's AD and I don't want Turner Gill as our coach.

And Baylor Culture? Like, the kind where players get suspended and a coach gets fired?

Seriously though, do you have good ideas for who might be a great get?

I have no clue, ADs hires are tough to handicap because they all have specialties. Some come from an institutional advancement background some from marketing, some from the business side. Depending on what #bringbackthe90s is looking for, it could be virtually anyone.

I think you can eliminate any school that runs a power 5 athletic department with more than 21 sports. This job would be a lateral move right now. The two bell cows are probably going to be needing new coaches.

Yeah-almost impossible to handicap because there are no "hot names" in the athletic director ranks. With coaches, you can see successful head coaches at the lower level or coordinators who are ready to move up. Not so with ADs. Nobody thinks "AD at lower level school is doing a great job and is ready to move up." Outside of alumni possibilities, few people look at another school's AD and covet them.

Give Bobinski a call. We were paying Eichorst half a million more a year than he's making at Purdue, and it's pretty much certain that Brohm is not going to stay there long anyway. I say bring them both there.

Del Conte from TCU also looks like a good candidate. They didn't lose a beat when they moved up from the Mountain West to the Big 12.

Add Larry the Cable guy, and every fan across the state that sits in a bar every morning drinking coffee, and saying "all we need is someone from the 90s".
And Sean Callahan brought it up in the press conference.

I would and think others would too.
The fact anybody thinks that is a big problem. A man whose only experience with football as an administrator is getting rid of the program. Zero experience in hiring a football coach. His ONLY qualification is he's a former player. Not one other school of our stature would even think for a moment of hiring him.

I want someone who knows what Nebraska Football is all about. At least Trev Alberts would demand much better than where we are today in basketball and football.

Several sports writers have thrown out the TCU AD. His resume' is very impressive. I am very happy they are using a firm to look though. Smart move IMO

Paul Meyer? Another TO guy BUT probably about as qualified from an experience standpoint without having had to hire a coach. Personally I'm not sure you want a guy with too much experience in hiring head coaches because that probably means he hired a bunch of crappy ones.

Or hired them at a stepping stone school.

From what I have read, the TCU AD is the all-around best bet. Getting him here could be would be difficult, but he appears to be the best choice with all things considered. Aside from the Oklahoma AD, he would be the home-run hire that fans are looking for. I already know a home-run hire for the HC is not going to happen. However, this AD would give us a chance. Nebraska ties? No. This is probably a good thing at this time and juncture.

Trev handled the entire "situation" like a child.
I don't want him as AD. He can come back and sign autographs and stand on the sideline all he wants, however.

Steve Pederson had a great resume, and had deep roots in Nebraska. Just keep that in the back of your mind before insisting the new AD have a history with Nebraska.

So we fired an AD and have no interim or permanent AD's lined up. Great. Is Dave Wannstedt available?

why as a matter of fact all he is doing is TV commentary and he's not all that good at it.......

And don't forget he had the recommendation of one Tom Osborne for the job....
