Thanks for clarifying my original statement.5 highest ranked conference champs and then the top 7 ranked teams after that.
I’m guessing on the number of conference champs. The original proposal was top 6 but with the pending collapse of the Big12 I assume they drop it to 5.Thanks for clarifying my original statement.
And won’t add schools that aren’t the flagship program in their state. Their best schools are the largest schools and most valuable schools in the state. Their problem schools are second tier and/or long tradition of poor football in large TV markets. That metric is dead thanks to cord cutters. They want Notre Dame not another Purdue or Maryland.I just don’t see KU getting a Big10 invite due to its football program. The Big10 went down that road last time around with Maryland and Rutgers and now regret it. Football drives revenue and they need eyeballs watching Big10 football. KU is last in the Big12 in average viewership and would be last in the Big10 as well. The Big10 won’t add schools which don’t add value.
Interesting. I don’t see how either of those schools adds value to the Big10 football package.I’ve read the Big 10 would like to add Virginia and North Carolina, but they are tied up with the ACC’s very long GOR. If they could get through that & both schools would want to go to the Big 10, it would open up spots in the ACC for a few Big XII teams.
