NU football existed before the 70s. Sam Francis, Guy Chamberlin and Pat Fischer would have to be included

True, but that's why were here. It could be that some may prefer the modern era.

Crouch: He was phenominal. Did all that was asked from him. Was the biggest warrior. Speed, strength, agility, toughness. He had it all. I sure wish we could have won it all. That doesn't diminish what he did during his time at NU. Maybe if 2001 O had 1999 D. Obviously, Crouch would have killed with the pipeline and Phillips/Green in the backfield.

Frazier: You got to believe that he should have won the Heisman in 1995. Tommie brought it all together. He was a leader. He was like Charlton Heston in chariot race in The Ten Commandments. Never in the history of college football has a team dominated the way that the 1995 Huskers did.

Rodgers: Had that sneaky speed. Like "woops" you missed him. There was a reason they called him the Jet!

Rozier: I'd choose Phillips over Rozier, but the whole mental illness thing prevented him from reaching his potential. Rozier won the Heisman.

Woulda, shoulda, coulda... Rozier was the best RB Nebraska ever had. Bar none. I would put Roger Craig over Phillips as well.

I picked Rozier. I was just saying that Phillips was the better of the two.

I think I might agree exactly with your list. Gill signs with Oklahoma…who is to say what happens to the program in the 80s and 90s. Remember Mark Mauer and Craig Sundberg were pre-Gill and post-Gill. Turner made Neb a popular destination for athletic option QBs.

I’d probably have to fit an O-Lineman in their somewhere. Rimington -the GOAT as a college center.

Devaney, Osborne and Ed Weir have buildings or fields named after them, that should count for something.

Osborne, Devaney, Frazier, and Green. Trying to find players and coaches responsible for multiple national titles. Could easily put some others on there, but these would be the four I’d roll with.
