ACC acquitting itself quite well in this tournament. Duke and UNC advanced to the Sweet 16 yesterday. The Cards won earlier today, and first four member Virginia (a greatly underseeded 10-seed) just knocked off Iowa in their home floor in double OT, 83-75.

Notre Dame has a chance to give the ACC its fifth participant in the Sweet 16 against Ohio State. 6 seed Notre Dame leads the Buckeyes 43-35 at the half.

A 6th ACC team (Syracuse) gets its shot at UConn in about an hour.

Hearing that Virginia accomplished a first in the Women’s NCAA tournament. Apparently, no first four team had ever made it to the Sweet 16. The last 5 women’s tournaments have had 68 teams.

Notre Dame knocks off Ohio State 83-73 in Columbus. 5th ACC team punches its ticket to the Sweet 16.

Now that the WNBA has signed a new CBA, Hidalgo should go pro.

Sweet 16 underway! 6-seed Notre Dame making their 5th straight Sweet 16 appearance against 2-seed Vanderbilt (first Sweet 16 appearance since 2011).

ACC with 5 teams in the sweet 16, but all 5 are lower seeds.

Vandy with 11 points and 10 TOs in the first quarter. ND leads 15-11, and Hidalgo with 4 steals already.

ND takes down Vandy 67-64. Hidalgo with 31 points, 11 rebounds, 10 steals and 7 assists … and if her teammates would have hit even 40% of their wide open shots after she passed it to them, she would have had a quadruple double.

Many talk about UCONN's Strong being player of the year but for my money Hidalgo is. She has put this team on her back. For a small guard she produces a lot in terms of points, rebounds, steals and assist. The ACC is having a great showing and I hope the Lady Cards continue the trend.

Definitely agree - she’s the best player in women’s college basketball in my opinion. I don’t expect her to go pro early, but as a UofL fan I wish she would!

What a finish between Duke and LSU. Duke wins 87-85 as their 3pter at the buzzer rolls all the way around the rim and goes in. Shot of the tournament so far, and I will be very surprised if it’s topped in either the men’s or women’s tournament.

ACC wins 2 out of 3 sweet 16 games as lower seeds. Hope that trend continues today!
