It's a start but they need to address the portal, unless it's in there and I missed it. One free transfer in your five years and that's it. I read that nearly 30% of the 1,000+ WBB players currently in the transfer portal have already transferred at least once before. That's the biggest problem right now, the habitual transfer portal players. They're the ones making it a joke.

Separate issue, and one where they have explicitly lost in court.

No medical redshirts sounds like something someone would end up taking to court. I mean isn't that the go to move still dont know how ole miss QB is coming back

So if a kid is a 19 yr old senior, his clock starts while in high school... If i am reading that correctly. It says your five year clock starts when you turn 19 or graduate, whichever comes earlier. So a kid who turns 19 in the fall of his senior yr of hs would only get 4 yrs to compete in college. Is that right?

Unless that 19th birthday was after March? They they would get the same 5 years of eligibility?

Since an athlete gets to participate 5 years, no longer a need for it. It is built in.
It simplifies things from the coaches and recruiting aspect for sure. I am fine to do away with Olympic year. I'd have an issue with the loss if medicals. From the football side, that loss of a year of rehab could cost big $$in the draft.

Everyone is going going to over think things, 5 for 5 is fair enough.

I like the clock, definitely will make re-think that kindergarten redshirt year. Not have at least 1 medical waiver seems to be an issue.
Nah, they get FIVE years. That's an extra year of eligibility, and that's long enough. Love the clock.
Medical? No one with half a brain wishes injuries or illness on anyone, but no one can guarantee four or five healthy years either. Stuff happens.

There are going to be the Bo Bassetts in the pipeline that are 19 year old seniors for the next 12 years that are only going to get 4 if they don't leave school early. I really don't care, the click is the clock. I welcome the change we don't need 25 year olds competing with freshmen.

They can reclassify if they want.

When I was starting school if you turned Five by the end of January ( school started in September here) you went to kindergarten. Over the years it changed to five by the start of the school year.

im ok if the clock stops at age 23, but ill take 24 and five years eligibility in five years and it ends at 24.
