I go to the World Amateur Golf tournament in Myrtle every late August for the past 5 years. With the tournament, they have a 19th hole at the Convention Center with free food and free bar every night which is a great deal and fun. But this year, I'm planning on going out somewhere one night. I'm looking for a local non buffet place with good beach atmosphere and good fresh seafood that is reasonably priced for what you get. Basically a place that locals would go along with visitors in the know. I used to love Sante Fe Station but they closed several years ago and haven't found a similar type place. Thanks in advance.

We’re here now. Hook and Barrel (had the swordfish - excellent; wife had crabcakes - excellent). Ate at Sea Captain’s House last night (had the mahi mahi and avocado salad - first-rate). Although it’s a chain and seems counter-intuitive, the Norwegian Salmon at the Hard Rock Cafe is excellent. The Alpine Grill is said to be good, although i’ve not eaten there. We also enjoyed Fiesta Mexicana; went there for Cinqo de Mayo last year and ate there again earlier this week, margaritas are tasty. For dessert, hard to beat Kirk’s Ice Cream place. Hope this helps your trip.
