Here are where the 8 teams in this tournament stand before the tournament, with their Ken Pom ratings in parenthesis. The ratings are going to be a bit off this early in the season due to a lack of sample size, but it is what I tend to check to gauge where teams stand in D1. It is going to be a tough tournament for us, there are a lot of good teams in it this year.
  • Texas A&M (31): 2-0
  • Colorado (59): 2-1
  • Loyola Chicago (70): 2-0
  • Boise St (83): 1-1
  • Murray St (140): 1-1
  • Charlotte (152): 2-0
  • UMass (155): 1-1
  • Tulsa (161): 1-1

Picture of the players (Twitter) on sunny Myrtle Beach is really fake , lol.....Temperature is 45 degrees with frost warning. High of 52 degrees today. Kinda glad I will be in front of TV especially with air fare to MB so high. Good write up on TU basketball today, much better than the previous beat writers. But has the game on ESPN+ whereas the tournament bracket says ESPNU. at 8:30.

I bought my plane ticket 9-10 months ago so I avoided the price increases. It is a bit irritating that it was mid-60s last weekend and will be next weekend but low 50s this weekend but it’s still pleasant. We’ve got a condo with an ocean view and we’re having fun. It’ll be more fun when the games start. I think this is the best tournament field we’ve had since the tournament with Auburn (I think coached by Bruce Pearl) and OSU.

I was in Myrtle Beach this time a year ago. Cold and rainy the whole time...which sucked because we were there solely to play golf all weekend. The best day was the quick pitch and putt we played the day we left. It's called the Aero Club and is literally across the street from the beach AND at the east end of the runway for the airport.

I just got a notice on tomorrows game saying the radio would be on ESPN+? The football game will preempt the basketball on 99.5. So maybe the audio will stream on ESPN+ today? They also gave streaming for the audio, on another site.

Good tight fought first half in the Colorado/UMASS game with UMASS leading by 3 at the half. I’m hoping all the games are this entertaining. I didn’t realize Frank Martin was coaching UMASS until today.

Holy crap...I didn't know that. What I wouldn't have paid to see him as the coach at UMASS during their heyday and playing Temple with John Cheney in the A-10. Someone might have ended up dead instead of Cheney just threatening to kick Calipari's ***.

So what was the deal with so many empty lane FTs. I think I saw 3 in my periodic glancing at the game on my computer

UMASS takes the opener by 3. Colorado had two shots to tie it at the end and missed both. Very entertaining game but lots of missed free throws hurt both teams.

Murray State Racers up on aTm by 7 at the half. Very entertaining game so far with both teams being very athletic and playing hard nosed D especially on the interior.

I wish we were playing Boise or Charlotte in the first round 4-4 with 12:00 left first half. Cold and colder.

Carlotta is putting away Boise early, 28-11 at half. Hopefully they won’t have a collapse like we had against OSU.

They just announced that the game will start in just over 20 minutes so it will be either in 20 minutes or right at 8:30

Konkol said in the Jackson St game he’d miss quite a few games but they didn’t know how long he’d be out for. He was in regular clothes for that game too

Is anyone else having trouble getting the radio broadcast on the varsity app? It didn't work for the last football game and I couldn't get it to work last night.

I didn't check any of this out since I get the local 99.5, and watched it on espnu.
