Against Iowa, Garza had no problem making FT's, his shot is a high arc that just goes thru the net. Myles seems to throw the ball right at the rim! Half of them are short and the others are too hard and bounce away. He has to be one of the worst Free throw players I have ever seen. I taught middle school and saw a lot of kids shoot better than him.
This team needs a coach for just shooting FT's.

Pathetic at the line. And he is a great kid but I do not want him to touch the ball.

"The glass is your friend" is something I was told countless times over and over again as a youth growing up playing a ton of ball. Same thing applies here. You get negative style points for sure but at this point who gives a f#@k? So if I'm Myles, I'm finding that sweet spot on the glass at the top of the square or above it (wherever it is), learning the right trajectory and strength, and I'm gunnin' for that every time. Sh#t, he can even call glass every time if it makes him feel better. Sure when you go for the glass on a free throw it looks downright awful, esp. if you miss. But at this point who cares. I guarantee his percentages will go up if he finds the sweet spot and nails down the muscle memory.

100% right. If his defense justifies playing virtually 4 on 5 on offense, sure, give him starter minutes. If not, put someone else in who has some semblance of coordination and dexterity. Manute Bol he is not.

Underhand. Florida kid who did it 2 years ago had NCAA record like 100 straight FTs. Soft touch, front of rim, it’s mathematically and statistically better. You can decide Myles, what’s more embarrassing, trying that, or continue on with a big ego and cost our team points being the worst Free throw shooter in America. Your choice

He and others are trying not to miss. A terrible mindset. It is a lot mental. Practicing everyday may actually be counterproductive.

That Florida kid is the son of the greatest foul shooter of all time, Rick Barry.

Rashad Kent went 43%, 46%, 36 %, 37%, while averaging a double double his senior year.

FT's is all mental. It's a 15ft shot you shoot thousands of times. It needs to be translated to the game or PT must be taken away. You'll see how fast they'll start making them and concentrating.
That was about as pathetic as pathetic can be

Against Michigan State, Myles and Jacob Young were visibly upset at their missed foul shots. The inability to make foul shots is mentally impacting the play of the team.

Getting better at anything doesn't merely involve more repetitions. There is something about the way the team shoots fouls that is fundamentally off that curiously the coaching staff has not been able to diagnosis. I say curiously because the staff is great.

A foul shot whisperer needs to be brought in to diagnosis the problem. Until they practice with the correct form they will not get better. The initial period of changing form is misery until the new shot is grooved in.

The team and the coaching staff work too hard to be derailed by foul shots.
