The ending to Baylor-UConn last night was so incredibly egregious that it must lead to a review of foul calls in the last 2 minutes of games in the men's and women's game. The outcry is omnipresent. Check out the LeBron comments and many more. Baylor was screwed and that most likely decided a National Championship. Ridiculous.I would be curious as to the viewership relative to the men's game in that it is the lead story on all outlets. Scores of NBA and NFL players opining.

I was watching the game live and didn't think it was a foul. I can see why Baylor would complain but the refs were behind and in front of the play so I would trust their call. Besides, the refs let them play the whole game. Why ruin the game at the end? Only when you watch on video from all angles does it appear to be a foul. However, I couldn't tell if it was all ball or not anyway.

I think the girl was hit (maybe multiple times) and that it was a foul. That said, I agree that the refs had been letting them play. Your classic no-win call for the ref.

this was easily a foul, you can not literally make that much contact without it being called, UConn is always protected and we know that womens officiating has always been below par

news flash refs suck. I would much rather go back to no replays. In my opinion they hurt the game more than they help. I forget which game it was in the big ten tournament but it ruined the last 5 minutes. Make the call in last 5 minutes and move on.

With replay fans still complain.

Replay should not apply in this situation because it was an obvious call. why would you need replay to make that call.

Refs almost always swallow the whistle in end-game situations like that, no matter what sport. It was a clear foul by the rules, but since when are games always called 100% by the rules ?

Lebron should be the near the end of the ref complaint line, only ahead of MJ. He gets more phantom foul calls in his favor than anyone in the NBA these days.

I just happened to catch the last 17 seconds on The U. I saw nothing on the live play. I saw nothing on the first reply. But I saw the arm contact on the view from the side. Definite contact up high but really tough call to make especially given position of refs.

Glad it wasn't me making that call. I can live with it though.

You want MORE replays? The incessant replays are ruining the flow of the game and the watching experience already. I'm fine with ZERO replays in college basketball at this point. You don't need to a replay to call an obvious foul. If the refs just did their jobs instead of looking at the clock and cowardly abdicating responsibility for calling the game then no one would be talking about this. 3 officials should be able to clearly see more than they are. And replay is a total crutch now.

Replay is making the game worse, I agree. Too much reliance on going to the monitor on almost every end-game situation.

Give each coach one challenge that can be used for out-of-bounds/possession plays (not fouls). Keep the current system to review flagrants.

The problem isn't so much calls are missed. Its the inconsistency between refs and the point in time of the game when identical calls are or not made. Certain refs call games tighter than others and most if not all refs will let usually let players decide the ends of games with their FG shooting rather than on the foul line.

The inconsistency is what's killing the sport, just as it does with football. The problem is there is no easy solution as no player or fan prefers to see endless game stoppages to check the video. I think the best compromise is better training and rule interpretation on the part of all refs, along with active communication in the post game. Too often than not, calls are debated in the locker rooms, press and social media, but yet the refs are never held accountable to explain themselves.

I didn't watch the game - women's college basketball reffing always makes their games hard to watch. From the games I have seen, I doubt this was even the worst call in this game, or even in the top three worst calls in the game. There are so so so many bad calls and no-calls in the women's game, that two evenly matched teams almost come down to a coin flip on any given night.

I hope this gets enough attention to have the NCAA look at women's officiating overall.

Add another one in the file for why I can't stand basketball officiating. Turned on two seconds of that game, and immediately got greeted with another sham.

I'm not sure challenges are the clear cut answer even for all calls. It may be an improvement, but as our infamous BET game years ago showed, refs can make an inexplicable amount of screwups in the final minute of play. Furthermore, as with the NFL, this defers everything onto the coaches having to weigh whether a clear missed call earlier in the game outweighs the risk of saving the challenge for another in the game's final seconds.

I get that everyone hates UCONN (including myself). Not saying it wasn't a foul, but if you only saw 2 seconds, you didn't see how consistently the refs called the earlier part of the game. Baylor was not ripped off. There were probably 20-30 other similar plays in the game that impacted both teams.

Tough way to lose a single eliminating game where both teams have played 30 or so games and come into the game with a combined 3 losses.

Neither team is going to feel good about the results when it's this controversial. UConn won the game, but instead of talking about their talented frosh guard and how they came back from 10 in the 3rd quarter, the non-call overshadows the entire game and season for UCONN and leaves a bit of difficulty for a sport that frankly needs new faces, new teams and new winners besides UConn.

Geno Auriemma doesn't need any help to win games. I think if it wasn't UConn, you probably don't see as much controversy on the call. Being that it was UConn and their coach has had consistent run-ins with other top Women's coaches, UConn is the villain who escaped. It will be more controversial if they continue on and win the National Championship, I am just not sure they will see a tougher opponent the rest of the way.

Lebron and others including this post are so far off. To call this no call "incredibly egregious" is just plain silly especially on last play of game where refs never call a foul. Like above stated, if you have to look at a play three times to find the "blatant" foul, its a good no call.

I suspect just a bunch of people rooting for UConn to lose or Baylor to win.

And the irony of Lebron complaining is priceless!
