Any intel on Mt. Pleasant? Couldn’t look at the Concord Newspaper article about the Tuscola game. Their Max Preps page has no roster and no stats either.

Maybe Forest Hills guys will chime in but most of their schedule consists of fanbases aren’t real active on here.

On Coach Brindley’s radio show he said they are most similar to Mtn. Heritage of the teams we’ve played and they have a group of big linebackers that meet people in the hole or moving forward. I watched some clips on them and #11 is a physical runner with the ball in his hands and can breakaway after lowering his shoulder to get through individual tacklers. Tuscola put up a decent amount of points on them so that’s encouraging. We’ll see how that translates for us. I think it is a good matchup for us.

After looking at some more film on Mt. Pleasant and looking at stats, strength of schedule, etc. it almost looks like we’re playing a very similar version of ourselves. They seem to pride themselves on physicality, do not shy away from contact, and they set up almost everything off the run with just enough wrinkles to keep you honest.

Almost the opposite of what we faced in West Iredell because they didn’t want to hit or be hit.

It looks like a game where both sides are going to wake up Saturday morning and KNOW that they played football the night before. I think it will be the most physical game we’ve seen this year.

Both sides played a great game. We were a little sloppier with penalties this week. Both us and Mt. Pleasant had our fair share of holds. We got two pass interferences, the biggest one being on their final scoring drive. Unless something happened before the ball got close, that one looked questionable.
Overall, this was a slugfest with very few haymakers . #11 for them loved to turn the corner with the ball and see one man waiting on to absolutely try to crush the guy. He laid several hard licks on us, while 13 just sort of hid behind the line and turned several touches into more than you ever thought he’d get. QB did a great job selling fakes after handoffs.

Several players stepped up and made momentum gaining plays for Pisgah. Maddox Wright played a solid game and made some very big plays on offense. First TD on 4th and goal from our 21 was obviously huge and then scored on our first play in OT. Pope made several punishing runs and Mason Putnam had a very gutsy performance to return for the 2nd half. Great job Bears!

Tough loss for the Tigers but they went out fighting their hardest and doing it their way. Zero Shame in that.
