The Woodside Wolverines earned their second straight Region bid with a 2-1 win over the Grassfield Grizzlies. Old Dominion recruit Drew Moyer took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and finished the game with two hits and one run allowed.
Moyer struck out Mikey Lasko for what should have been the final out but the runner took off and freshman catcher Chris Henley threw to first base. The throw sailed over the head of the 1st baseman and the ball went into the outfield. Austin Obenour, who opened the inning with a walk, tried to score from but the throw from right-fielder Nick Arendas to Henley was on the money nailing Obenour at the plate.
Woodside scored their runs in the 3rd and 5th innings. Elijah Welcher lined a 2-out double for the Wolverines first hit and he scored on a single by Mason Adamson and Josh Welcher drove in a run on a fielders choice.
The Grizzlies only run was scored in the 6th inning after an RBI single by Max Bircham.
