I recently viewed a YouTube video of the '83 Minnesota game and at halftime during a interview on the field, Salem basically threw in towel saying we're not going to win the game. Brutal. At least some kind of encouragement in order to keep the players competing.

I haven't ever seen the whole game, but I do recall reading that we put the starters back in late in the game because of limited travel roster size and the backups were gassed.
