Wow. Just wow. It will be interesting to see who they get in there and if they'll be trying to look for a triple option guy. Switching gears to a pro style offense seems like it might be a 3-4 yr rebuild at minimum as they're not really built to play any other style.

That actually kind of shocked me , guess Navy decided they were done with mediocrity as well, they should be a lot better then they are tbh

There’s a group of admirals that have been trying to remove him for about two years now. Navy is pretty dysfunctional at times. They may regret this.

Most decisions made by generals/admirals are regretted by a lot of people, at least lately. They're so far removed from reality their thought process is nonsensical. It's neat seeing them apply it to football instead of a more impactful area, like combat.

Anyway.

So for every handicap that the media likes to perceive that TU has, Navy has 2-3 actual handicaps they have to deal with. At the service academies, you can't recruit the biggest best athletes all the time. They have to recruit kids with solid backgrounds, excellent grades, and an ability to be an officer in the US Navy, Army, or Air Force.

Are we falling into the same low expectations hole that we are accusing casual Tulsa fans of falling into?

I expected this. I am a firm believer that the only reason he survived and kept his job after a 3 win season last year was because they beat Army. He has had 3 straight losing seasons of 4 or less wins each year. They also lost to Army this year. At the Academy, the biggest game of the year is the Army vs Navy game. I wish him the best but this is not shocking to me at all.

I think some folks are.

"Navy is a tough job and they should be happy to have him. He used to win sometimes."
Yea well, that's a piss poor attitude to have. So those that have the attitude that winning doesn't matter can GTFO.
