Mobile tickets

My husband and I are aged. We just found out about Rutgers online tickets and were really unhappy. We use our phones for phone calls. When I called for print tickets they wanted to charge me an extra $10, which they eventually waived.
I cannot understand why they are making life so difficult for seniors? Many of us cannot read the writing on phone or use the tiny letter keys.

I paid the $10 and was fine with it

Using Mobile tickets does not take into consideration that the person buying many tickets has other families to distribute to, and sometimes there are
Switches on who is coming , etc

I don't know, when it comes to stuff like this nowadays, I forgive an extra 10 bucks here and there as part of the expense-cutting measures necessary to make up for a horrific year or two.

I had no idea that they are requiring a vaccine passport. How do you get one?
Don't worry about it. It is not going to happen . Too much money to be lost by business's if they card people at the door to everything .

We are on a fixed income and have to watch every dollar. That ten matters to us.

Not sure about RU, but I'll be laughing my face off when you're back here complaining about how you can't do certain things because you refuse to vax!

Now, back under your rock ...there's a needle trying to get you!
Ya mean things like going to Devil games that was addressed by the team yesterday ? See ya there next season my brother. BTW that rock comment is clever how did you think of that one ? No need to get the needle ! I just don't have the time to be scared of the little virus !

I thought it was a nice twist - didn't want to just copy the bed thing. Same but different is how I'd call it.

Hockey is not something you'll find fsg2 attending or watching on purpose. Now a Yankees or RU fb game ...well a "yes" in theory, but not sure I'll be out that way until the holidays.

If arriving separately, you can transfer a ticket or parking pass to each member of your party. This will allow you and your guest(s) to arrive at your own convenience. Via My Account 2.0, select the tickets you wish to transfer and enter their cell phone number. They will receive a text message instructing them to accept their tickets. They will need to log into their existing Rutgers account or simply create an account to accept their tickets. Once your guest(s) have accepted the transfer, they will be able to add the tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Pay.

The mobile tickets actually makes it easier to do that. Just need to send it to their cell phone. It's a lot easier than having to coordinate the handoff in person.

Yes, I was aware of the of transferring in this manner
I would rather pay the 10 bucks and have the actual ticket

I pass out all the tickets before the first game and be done with it. Easy enough to do at the first tailgate since everyone is there

I'm pretty set in my ways and this voodoo magic of Mobile tickets just doesn't sit well with me. I could see my phone breaking, running out of juice just as I'm going to get scanned or simply forgetting it. Don't laugh that type of sh*t happens to me all the time, it's just my lot in life. So we requested the print tickets, my wife is the the tech wiz and thought it was unnecessary.

It's like a waitress telling you to use the little boxes on the table to read the menu and you point your phone at it and nothing happens. When you hit your 70's you shake and your eyes fail you. Requiring the phone thing is cruel.

Glad they waived the fee. Good job.

Verizon charged me a small fee because the modem THEY gave me was just old. Bugged the heck out of me. Made me keep it even longer. To be honest though, when I finally upgraded it was a huge improvement.

Why did they waive the $10 ? that seems to be reasonable

Physically handling tickets on gameday is a euphoria I look forward to each and every time I enter the stadium. Sadly, they will go the way of the rotary phone, the dodo bird and the soon to be extinct Star Ledger. As to @fsg2 , that $10 is worth two, triple hopped, IPA juicebombs which could be sitting in my (non Yeti) cooler. 🍺🍺

Complete opposite.

I've been to many concerts where my friend almost forgot to grab the tickets or straight up did forget (and a friend had to drive them down to the venue).

Give me one less thing to carry.

For us the ticket packages go in with the tailgate stuff for the entire group. So if we forget that, then we're doubly fvcked. Like the time my wife forgot pancake syrup for one of our many breakfast tailgates in our old AAC days.

As everyone just stared at each other in bewilderment, luckily I remembered Henry's diner. Ran over, ordered a plate of pancakes, told her, "hold the pancakes and just give me a crap load of syrup". Manager came out, "just give me $1, here's all the syrup." Hey everyone gets to be a hero once in their life. 😁

What I do is screenshot the tickets I’m transferring to those coming to the game with me, and send the image to my guests via text. If I’m not attending a game for whatever reason, I’ll go thru the Rutgers website and transfer them that way, which is fairly simple. But when I discovered that screenshotting works with the digital readers at the door or gate, life was good again.

I personally prefer the physical paper tickets, mainly because of the ability to keep them as memento's of special events. I still have a few from games I went to that were meaningful to me (RU/Louisville, Aaron Boone Homerun in game 7 against Red Sox, a Cowboy's game with my son in Jerry World, etc). That said, everything is clearly going mobile and the majority of people now can handle it without issue on their phones. I understand there may be some seniors who struggle, but to expect an entity to build their ticket process around those constraints makes no sense. Paper tickets are also more subject to fraud. RU offered an option to get paper for $10. That seems like a more than reasonable solution for the limited population who truly needs it. And honestly, if $10 is enough to be a burden, I personally might re-think buying tickets in the first place and focus on more critical needs. To each their own though....

Just want to add that I am not opposed to mobile ticketing in general. I have attended many a concert, other events, used the restaurant barcode etc, with no problems

I have to dole out six season passes to others, who then sometimes can't make a game so they give the ticket to someone else

I have transferred several mobile basketball tickets and it was easy enough, but that was a couple of individual tickets, not multiple people and games

The beauty of screenshooting is that the image itself can be forwarded to anyone, so if those to whom you dole out the tix can't make it, they can forward the screenshot-ticket to whoever's gonna go tot he game. It works the same way a regular ticket does. I also like the hardcopy tix because they're a nice memento of the games (especially those of greater significance), but I've pretty much made the transition to mobile.

I was initially uncomfortable with just the screenshot, so initially I made sure I also had my hardcopy ticket I case the reader didn't accept the screenshot, but after enough successful times I integrated the screenshots and hardcopies, depending on circumstance.

Most scanners at events don’t accept screenshots fyi

Lol...$10. Vs. $6,000 free Federal Stimulas funds.
Not a fan of this either but seriously?

With mobile ticketing, @knightfan7 and I will no longer have to divert the UPS driver from @e5fdny 's house so that we can win the annual season ticket delivery derby.

Also, the poster who posts before the game to make sure everyone puts their tickets and parking pass in the glovebox will have to post something different. Will the parking passes be mobile too?

Thanks for thinking of me. My wife told me about this . So if she told me it just might not have been me. But we all had a good weekend . a lot , not all , but a lot of business's out there don't mind if people walk in mask less. Good to have freedom back ! AND to top off the weekend we had a tour of Culp's hill for 3 hours . The guide started with a mask but after seeing all of us with no mask took his off. FREEDOM .
