Early thoughts on this game. The Rams are playing well at the right time of the year.

Offense has been really productive and the defense has just been great.

I expect a good tough physical football game.

Mitchell folks have a safe trip from the mountains next Friday.

I will be the first to say. I was dead wrong about this Mitchell team. After the first couple games I just didn’t see a path to the second round of playoffs. Have to give the coaches/players credit for the turn around.

Having said all that, Mitchell got a good draw in the playoffs with teams they matched up with well.

While I think Mitchell will bring their best not sure it will be enough against the Rams. Prove me wrong again Mountaineers.

I think i posted the other day that it always seems like Mitchell is playing their best ball this time of year. You can say the same for Starmount too. Two great programs. Good luck to both teams.

Watauga hosting sun valley and hibriten hosting maiden isn't too far away...I think those two games will be better than this one

Looking forward to this matchup between the Rams and Mountaineers. I have very good memories during my youth of spending summers near Spruce Pine in Mitchell County for an annual music festival named for Mac Wiseman. We camped every year, and the music was akin to an earlier version of MerleFest; anybody popular at the time playing bluegrass and toe tapping music was there, from Flat & Scruggs, Bill Monroe, The Lewis Family, the Osborne Brothers to Tommy Faile, Lula Belle & Scottie, and Ricky Scaggs. It was always fun, up in the mountains. Don’t think the venue is there anymore, but I remember it backed up along the Toe River off US19.

I know the good people in that area have had it rough since last September. Wishing safe travels for the fans and players from Spruce Pine, Ledger, Bakersville and Penland in Mitchell County to Yadkin on Friday!

Having not seen Starmount predictions are tough at best. So I will say the higher seeded….naw go shock the 2a world ‘Neers

Mitchell by 2. (Be advised that is a heart pick) head says home team comfortably. But what fun would that be.

Should be a tough hard fought game. If the Rams can keep the running game going I like them to pull away by two scores.
Rams by 14
Murphy by a lot!

Mitchell had a lean and quick bunch! I thought the Rams were in trouble from the gun when that QB sprinted straight up the middle and to the end zone to make it 7-0 on the third play of the game! But thereafter, I didn’t expect the Rams to come storming back to make it a runaway.

The Mitchell folks travel well, and come prepared. A great program!

Congratulations to Starmount Rams and good luck next Friday for the regional final!

Congratulations to the Rams. Hmmm, so that’s what it feels like to be absolutely thrashed. Great game you all had. Good luck next week, should be a great ball game.

Now just want to say Congratulations and Thank you to the Mitchell Seniors. Many hours of your young lives were spent to represent Mitchell High and Mitchell County for that I thank you. Thanks to the coaches for the time and effort that goes into this crazy game. Good luck in whatever field you choose going forward.

Mitchell just made to many mistakes, starmount solid football team . This run should help mit next year, if rumors are correct mit will be lot stronger next year , with influx of talent
