UNM beat them by plus 60. Not sure iwe can tell much from that score because Southern. U is up by 20 at MS Valley State with time left in Q1. SU has scored TD's on their 3 possessions. MS Valley has negative offense after 4 possessions.

Doesn't seem like much difference in losing 50-13 at home, or 66-0 on the road. Southern lost 62-15 the week before at LA. Tech.

It says MSVU might not beat Jenks or Union if they played. They gave up 52 to an FCS team that is not one of the power FCS teams. Again, in 2001 TU beat Indiana State 51-0 to open the season and I thought we were on our way, 17 games later TU finally won another game against UTEP and students tore the goal posts down...Burns was fired, Krag was hired and now we're here trying to get that magic back. TU's defense may not be great, but it is infinitely better than MVSU. TU wins this week IF they have 2 or fewer turnovers, no big runs (and definitely no big scoring runs, 30+ yards). Clog the box and play 3 DBs (2 CBs and a safety) and put 8 in the box. Leave the DBs on an island and dare UNM to throw the ball.

There's no way our defense will keep that offense from breaking a couple big runs. We just have to come up with enough stops that our offense can stay consistently ahead

FAU got a bunch of offensive holds last week that killed promising drives, a lot of that comes from Tulsa's improved defensive line pressure. Hope for some turnovers, penalties, anything to slow the Lobos' triple option down.

Ya, I think FAU (offensively) will gameplan our D'line out of the game by moving laterally with sweeps, reads, and misdirection. At least that's what I would do... make our secondary and Linebackers show they can wrap up in the open field.

After no turnovers from FAU, TU is due some from UNM. That could be a difference maker.

And, I'm ready for a big special teams play.

This could be a problem with our linebackers

Good luck Saturday...

Going to be a shootout. UNM kept their playbook real minimal for the season opener but it looks like this years lobos are going to be a balanced pass and run team..

Most of UNM firepower was pulled from tje game Saturday by the middle of the 2nd quarter including starting QB Lamar Jordan.

Going to be an interesting game to watch as I assume we will see some triple option from UNM as they didnt run any of it last week.
Lamar Jordan went 7-7 for 106 yards before Coach Davie pulled him to get him rested ajd ready for TU...

See you all tomorrow

FAU has a ton of penalties in tonight's game. I don't think TU was getting the home cooking calls. There easily could have been another 6-8 holding calls, including one on Alexander in OT, that didn't get called.
