Asking myself 2 questions
1. Why am I watching this game
2. What a loser I am/was caring about these games when Rutgers played in them

They are irrelevant. The tournament doesn’t start until Friday.

MN had a 14-pt lead, NW now has it down to 5. Minnesota is too sloppy with the ball, and NW has missed many open looks, so MN is gonna have a tough time holding onto the lead.

Minnesota was at home against us, where they have been good. Away from home they do not win.

Wonder if Collins seat gets a little warm.

nah its probably the toughest job in a power 6 short of De Paul

He still has plenty of goodwill and they showed some signs this year...early and late in the season

Still I think they appear to be sputtering their wheels for a few years now. Hopefully RU does not suffer the same feat...you have to keep things moving forward and Collins seems to be struggling

RU wasn't really winning games and those were prime opportunities to win. That's reason enough

Collins should have an experienced group of seniors and a decent recruiting class coming in next season, so if he doesn't get up to around .500 in conference play or better next year I'd say his seat will definitely be warm. They really haven't had a consistent point guard since McIntosh from the tourney team of a few years back. And they've had guys with reputations as good shooters who just haven't shot the ball very well. It is a tough job as NU has no real basketball tradition while Illinois, while not in the blueblood category, has usually been very good over the years. Illinois in basketball has been what Rutgers has often been in football — not able to keep enough of the in-state kids home. Schiano is starting to change that at Rutgers. Underwood in BB has kept Ayo and a couple of others at Illinois, but think what they'd be if they also had Liddell, an Illinois guy who's the star for Ohio State.

Glad this ugly season is done for NU. Hope for a better one next year and I doubt the league will be as tough. Good luck to you guys against the Hoosiers.
