I'm a Georgia Tech fan who wants our former RB Dedrick Mills to do well. In recent days I've read he has graduated from JUCO but needs to improve his GPA to be admitted at Nebraska. Any new news?
Thanks for asking, but I don't think anybody has anything new to report. He needs two A's and B to up his gpa. Everyone sounds optimistic, but who the hell knows. There are multiple threads on here if you want to look back a few pages. Sorry, that's all I got. Keep checking in, it should be settled shortly. Good luck this year.

I get the feeling that no news is bad news.
Dedrick is a battering ram tough runner that rarely if ever is tackled for loss, and has great instincts for getting the extra yards. While he may not be a burner he's "football fast" which enables him to break tackles and extend 5 yard runs to 15-20 yards. Without a doubt he was Georgia Tech's best player.

While he made some poor choices/decisions at GT he is not a bad young man. His head coach at GT, Paul Johnson said as much when Dedrick was dismissed from the team. Since then GT has made a change to the policy that led to the dismissal.

I'm pulling for the young man to get the GPA up and get back on track. If he can do that I'm confident all Cornhusker fans will enjoy his efforts this season!

I would assume that it will take a while for our admissions office to get all of the necessary documentation of his grades and coursework from GTech and his Juco. Just because he's finished classes and has his grades doesn't mean that he has or hasn't been admitted to NU. That takes a little time especially where multiple schools are involved.

If he's that good on the football field, I'm confident Nebraska will find a way to get him qualified and playing this fall

Let's hope so! He wouldn't be the first to have been thwarted by NU's compliance office though, unfortunately.

Fortunately, I think this coaching staff is on top of things.

Being reported on front page now. Mills is officially coming and joining the team. 5’11 220 pound 4 star Juco RB that’s already D1 proven. Big time news.
Yes, it is big time news. Great news for the Huskers as they now have their front runner for the starting RB in the fold. And great news for the kid who may be able to take what he learned from this academic experience and turn the corner academically at NU.
