10.6 digital is a great time. About the wind... It looks like he is running into the wind. He runs very straight up, and he looks tall, which makes it look slower. Plus the angle it was filmed has an odd effect to me. Normally the runners run past the person filming which makes them seem faster.

Because he saw the flag in the background, which was completely flat due to wind blowing in the same direction they were running. That had to be a wind-aided race.

That would be incorrect. Look for the flag flailing in the wind after they cross the finish line.
