Is Mike Rice being a coach at the Patrick School a negative for us in terms of possibly getting those players? I wonder how he feels about RU coaches coming in to see players and how that relationship is.

I would think that he would be a stand up guy about it, but just curious if anyone in the know or closer to it would have any thoughts.

Multiple articles written in the last year, clearly indicate there is no concern at all....Rice wants back into college coaching, only question is who will have the ability or willingness to re-hire him....watched his games a couple of weeks ago at the AAU event in NYC from right behind his teams bench (they got mauled in this game) and Rice is still fiery and works officials non-stop, even for an AAU game, the intensity and competitiveness is 100% still there....

He coaches Scottie Lewis and Bryan Antione, both are 2019 national recruits at a Kentucky/Louisville/Carolina level....there was some indication floated in the media that St. John's would try to hire him as an assistant, to allow them to have a chance to land both players, but I believe they are beyond that level now of Rice having an ability to carry both players with him at his next destination.

If anything, the coaching community loves and embraces Rice and most (not all), understand/like Rice and know he's a good coach....but he has no negative impact on RU at all...if Valdir Manuel didn't just visit RU last week, maybe someone could have a thought that it matters, but HS coaches that double as AAU coaches see and know these kids more than anyone.

If he's the new Kevin Boyle and Bob Hurley, Sr., he and his players can not find Piscataway and The RAC with a GPS.

Seton Hall and St Patrick HS have had deep connections for decades
Shaheen Holloway and Grant Bilmier are both alumni

Mike Rosario, Myles Mack, Eli Carter were all St. Anthony's players.
That is a short list., and two of them bailed out. How many years was Hurley at the helm? Would be interesting to know how many Div-1 players there were during Hurley's tenure at St. Anthony's and how many ended up at Rutgers. I bet the percentage is embarrassingly minuscule.

So basically four players in thirty plus years and two transferred out? With friends like this....

Myles Mack only played one year at St. Anthony. I think Eli Carter might have only played a year as well but I might be wrong. Myles Dixon didn't even start at St. Anthony. In reality we got very little from St. Anthony out of the last 40 years.

Knights, Dixon sure did start, he was second best player on the team in HS. Kid that went to Nova was their top player, forget his name, Anderson maybe?
