Mike Leach on the DP Show..

"Will you watch the national title game?"

"Honestly, that's about 50/50."

[57stratdawg]

"When you look at offenses, what do you think is next?"

"Umm.. Stuff goes in and out of cycles a little bit. For example, nobody's really stopped the wishbone, but it's more out of style."

[57stratdawg]

"most people don't know this, but I've lead the nation in ball control before. I took absolutely no pleasure in that, for the record. The greatest form of ball control is points."

[57stratdawg]

"You taught a class at Washington State; are you going to do that at Mississippi State?"

"We haven't gotten that far yet. We have to do it in the Spring though, because with recruiting and everything, we have to make sure I'm in town."

"Have you been to Little Dooey's?"

"I haven't, but I've heard good things"

[57stratdawg]

"Can you give me the timeline. It sounds like Joe Judge was lined up to Mississippi State, and next thing you know the Giants swoop in"

"I can't speak with that, but it took somewhere between minutes and hours. I got a call saying Mississippi State would like to talk to you, and I was like 'okay, when?'. And they said 'we'll be down there this afternoon', and I thought 'this afternoon!?'."

I may have been misinformed. I was told by a good source that Cohen went to see Leach Monday afternoon....now I think it may have been Tuesday.

Interesting to hear a coach admit that he wasn't the school's first choice.

It would make sense to think Cohen got things lined up to see him as soon as it was known that Judge was getting the Giants job. Tuesday makes sense.
