Some delusional Cowboys fans think they are playing the long game. And positioning themselves to get Arch Manning in 26 or 27. Lol. Why pay Dak all that money if that's your master plan. Jerry needs to hand over the reigns to his kids already.
Question. I don’t defend Jerry I absolutely despise him.but what has Parsons being a cowboy accomplished? They received an All pro DT and 2 first round draft picks the next two years. They also free up a ton of cap room . I watched ESPN this morning before I left KC . Just wondering how Jerry got fleeced in this deal as everyone claims?

He got an all pro DE . And2 first round draft picks .Jerry has issues but people thinking Dallas got fleeced are idiots. Not directed at you necessarily.
He got a 3 time pro-bowler, a 2023 replacement selection. He's a good player, who is going into his 10th season. 1 sack in 17 starts in 2024. Making 21 million/year. There is a reason why people are freaking out, Parsons is entering his 5th season, after playing 2 in college. He's in his prime.

Micah is in the same company with Reggie White. Kenny is a solid player. But he's 30 years old and coming off his worst season in his career. Micah is 26. In the prime of his career. He's a game changer who can get to the QB. Im not saying JJ got fleeced. Im saying he could have got way more if he traded him months ago. An aging DT and two lower first round draft picks for a generational talent like Micah is a bad trade for the Boys and JJ.

A 3 time pro bowl DT who might be in decline. They didn't free up cap room. Clark is making more than Parsons was.

They are likely getting mid to late 20's picks. They need to use that to replace Parsons. Or package it and replace Parsons.

Jerry has them in some kind of weird purgatory. They can't even dream of catching the eagles. They are stockpiling draft picks with a qb making $60 million a year. Dak has 2 seasons left on his giant contract. Then what? You hope to hit on all these first rounders, let Dak go and make a run in 2028? 2029? That's the play?

And you just traded your best player to the team that has knocked you out of the playoffs 3 times in 10 years.

And the Packers really needed Clark's cap hit to make Parsons contract work. So they kind of bailed them out on that too. It's weird all around.

also got a number 1 in the next two years. I think Jerry is a dipshit . But was Dallas going to accomplish anything with Parsons?if no how is this a bad for Dallas? Green Bay is the one that put the eggs in 1 basket.

Let's say it ends up being the 24th and 26th pick. Would you give up the 24th pick of the 2026 draft and 26th pick of the 2027 draft, for Micah Parsons? They aren’t getting the 3rd pick.

Hey, if you like the plan of majorly overpaying your qb so you can develop maybe the best defender in football so he can walk after 4 years, more power to you. It's a dumbass plan. Could have done all this in March and got a haul.

Jerry is a dipshit . Not a fan of Dallas. I am just saying parsons didn’t want to be there. Don’t blame him. I think GB if anyone got the bad deal. If they don’t win big the next two years there screwed. No number 1 picks and 47 million on tje cap hit . Jerry is deranged in his mind he made a great pick.

Both teams won...its easy to make fun of jerrah, but this was a good move for him. Now, will he be alive to see it bear fruit? 50/50
Ya not sure why everyone thinks Dallas and jerry made a horrible mistake. GB need to reach a SB in the next 2 years. If not they failed miserably in this deal IMO.

Jerry acting like he got some Herschel type draft haul. He will be dead before the Boys even sniff an NFC title game or another Super Bowl. Bottom line. You don't trade a player like Micah in the prime of his career. JJ got his feelings hurt because he thought he had a handshake agreement with Micah. He didn't want to deal with Micahs agent. And he made an emotional decision. Big mistake and I'm glad my Packers got him. Hoping he can get us back into the SB.

..well i ain't gonna go that far. Jerrah will probably screw up those picks, but for non Cowboy fans like myself we'll continue to be entertained by his idiotic decisions.

He didn't want to be there after Jerry botched the negotiations. He refused to negotiate with his agent. I think he is senile. The cap space won't matter in 2 years. Salary cap will go up. Always does. Pick 22 or 27 is not remotely the same as as a top 10 pick. The Packers 2023 and 2024 1st round picks aren't even starting.

You, and Jerry, overvalue a late 1st round pick.

The player Jurry got has destroyed my Vikes for the last couple of years. He got a dude in return. Not sure Clark is the game changer Micah is at times, but Green Bay mortgaged their future with that contract. They’re going to have trouble replacing Clark. The option for Jurry really was to make Pardons hold out OR trade him and get the most for him they could.

Parsons got a HUGE guaranteed contract from Green Bay. 60 Million this year. Clark’s contract pays him just over 21 million/year. 30 is not THAT old for a DT IMO. Parsons wasn’t going to play in Dallas for the 30M they were willing to pay him this year.

Clark had 1 sack last year. In 17 starts. He was gone after this season.

Still doing way better in cap space than every team in the division. It helps to have a competent GM and President..

Yes, they will have a hole to fill with Clark being gone. You aren't sure? Lol The rest of America is sure Micah Parsons is more of a game changer than Kenny Clark. People are freaking out for 3 reasons:

1. How do botch negotiations this bad in the first place? Just negotiate like a normal GM with the players agent. Quit trying to be a weirdo and sneak around, then take it public.

2. If you are going to trade him, why not do it at the optimal time and actually maximize the value. Get some early first round picks. Running it into the start of the season cost the cowboys.

3. If you are going to pull the trigger on a trade, why do it with a conference foe who has knocked you out of the playoffs 3 times since 2014?

The contract won't matter that much. People say the same thing when qb's sign. Remember when people freaked out about Love's contract? He's now the 13th highest cap hit for a qb.

Bottom line is good organizations manage all this roster management and make hard decisions. They made a hard decision. Vast majority of America thinks they got the better end of this deal.

That trade benefited both teams. Jerry got a very good d lineman he desperately needed, got rid of a guy who had become a locker room problem, got draft picks and reduced his salary cap hit. Green Bay got a piece they wanted and have a rookie to fill Clark’s role.
