I'd say even depressing for Dylan. Yeah he's now loaded. But he came here to win. As a kid, he watched his brother win and make NCAA tournaments. He didn't come here to suck. While he's great and loaded, we suck.

I don't know. If there is a long line at this signing and they're Rutgers folks, line probably looks like a food line in the old Soviet Union. Just shell shocked and depressing. Hard to have beaming smiles from either party when it's finally your turn for the picture and autograph.

We don’t suck. We e lost 3 games by one possession, given perhaps we should have had better games. I would call use slightly disappointing in 2 games in particular. KState, Princeton

Had him sign one for my collection and one to sell. Dylan (expectedly) looked very not-happy. Was not very talkative to the young kids that I saw there.

At $50 a pop, I estimated at least 300 people there…an easy $15k + in two hours of work. Not bad for a college freshman.

Kind of not feeling this after losing to Princeton yesterday, and having our tourney chances on close to life support before January 1. RU Bball still stinging for me today even after '24 hour rule' - doesn't feel right someone from that team should be making insane money after yesterday, but that's business I suppose.

Dylan and Ace's 8 months on the Banks will be over shortly. Win or lose, they cash in. It's not about winning this year but about the brand and getting ready for the NBA. Nothing against them, they are just playing the game as it is. I would do the same. But this season was supposed to be the payoff for last seasons disaster. And it's even worse. And next season, yikes. There's never a payoff

It's a whole different ballgame now. That's why I never watch the NBA. There was something pure about college four years of having the same guys created team that you knew and followed. Now it's just one and done guys in the portal. It may get to the point where I don't follow college basketball either

The sell on college sports is #1 Nostalgia/Loyalty for all the alumni and fans. #2 is the amateurism of it and how it is different than the pros. The college product and the allure of college sports did themselves no favors by having NIL - they soiled a niche market. I don't see a day where I will ever fully stop supporting Rutgers..... losing interest over time due in large part to NIL? - seems likely.

Agree. The very rich will benefit and the masses will be worse off. Far less opportunities on the whole. The non playoff bowl system will disappear. And hope hopefully guaranteed scholarships and title IX. But it's what they asked for.

Based on what? He makes more than you do. Idiotic take.
I don't care how much he makes. Millions of people make more than I do.

Please direct me to a person who thinks Rutgers is a professional basketball team... and let me know which professional league it competes in. SMH

He's getting paid plenty. That makes him a professional. I have no idea what you are even trying to say.

Yup, if every guy is getting paid to play, they are professionals. The Big Ten brings in more revenue than most companies.

Every guy doesn't get paid to play, but I get what you mean.

Simply, @Ridge 22 the point I am trying to get across is that although there are Rutgers players who are getting paid, Rutgers is NOT a professional basketball team and the B1G is not a professional basketball league... regardless of who is getting paid.

EXAMPLE: If a pro sports fan asked you what's your favorite pro team and you replied, "Rutgers," that person would say, "I said pro, not college." If that same person asked what's your favorite pro league and you replied. "Big Ten," that same person would probably say, "Are you hard of hearing? I asked what's your favorite pro team and favorite pro league. I don't care who you root for in college."

But college sports is now professional sports. You just haven't realized that yet. But it meets the definition on every level. And that only grows by the day.
