I would have liked to see what this conditioning program would have done to Myles Mack and his game.

The kid played his heart out but he always seemed winded out there. I couldn't believe the food pictures he would post while on the team.

Pikiell mentioned the guards and how they have the one key component needed to be a good defender.......Lateral quickness.

I think we have a real coach this time. I found myself just nodding my head into the laptop over and over again.

Gosh please don't be a mad man on the side court...cause we may have a team to get behind and be really proud of starting now. Not 3 years away. But now. Competitive and fun. Good enough for me year 1.

I'm in.

Coach Pikiell is extremely likable and has a strong undercurrent of confidence that makes you believe he will be successful at some point. He and his teams are going to be fun to watch going forward.

This guy really gets it. What every fan wants is for their team to exceed expectations. No doubt that will happen with Coach P at the helm.

I like him more and more each time I hear him talk in front of a room. I've watched this presser 3 times...lol

Actually, he reminds me of Mike Rice (without the anger management issues), who I thought was a top-notch up and coming college coach.

Great to hear that conditioning and then defense and rebounding are the first aspects being emphasized. It seems conditioning was non-existent under Jordan and we know defense and rebounding were at best an afterthought ("I don't coach rebounding")

Seriously: What the flying f* did Eddie do while he was head coach? Did he do a single damn thing other than just "show up"? Hearing some of the things Pike says - which are things to have been rumored but, IMHO, much different actually coming from him - just f*cking disgusts me. I'm almost at the point of complete disdain towards him, right now, that I've been towards Fudd for a few years now.

There is a big difference between failing and what Jordan did. I am not mad at FHJ. He was a bad coach and more importantly a bad leader, but he cared and tried. Eddie Jordan was a borderline thief. He took a job knowing the whole time what it took to be successful and it appears was never willing to put the requisite time and effort.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, for which there is ample support. But, I would refrain from calling a loyal son a "thief." I don't think Eddie took the job intent on not doing what it takes to succeed. It's just that the effort required was far different than his NBA experience and he probably lacked the drive at 60 years old to do what it took.

But if everything we heard is true then he didn't even TRY from DAY 1. That he put, literally, ZERO effort into the job and now....with the things you hear Pikes say...it's becoming more and more evident IMHO. Anyway I wonder if he even stuck to his $30K pledge. If so then there's 1 thing he put some "effort" into.

BTW he was quite the "thief" while playing for RU. Just sayin'.

The people who were arguing that Eddie should be given another year should now see why he shouldn't have been. The battles between us posters about this were dumb.

Agreed. FWIW, I thought Eddie should have gone even sooner, but I just wouldn't call him a thief - except in reference to his record in all-time steals as a player at RU.
