It will be interesting g to see how Rhule handles this.

His commit was pretty soft day one. Having said that, he’s not going to be “blown away” by anything @ UCF from an athletic level. and General academic rankings similar @ both schools. I due doubt he ends up in Nebraska at the end of the day.

Like to have him but not going to care one bit if he's gone. I just assume committs from halfway across the country who kind of commit out of nowhere might not end up signing. Nature of the game until we start winning.

Stay in the class

Leave the class

Either way is alright with me

Ultimately he doesn't change overall trajectory of the program

Our recent track record with Florida HS recruits is pretty pathetic. Frost paid a heavy price for emphasizing Florida recruits in his first couple of years.

Miami, Fla St & Florida has yet to offer.
He thinks there is better, go get it and let us know how it works out!
Seems like any commit from Florida who would visit UCF, would be an automatic decommit if any of the bigger three s Fla. schools offered.

His commit really wasn’t out of nowhere. That said Orlando is a very fun place to hang IME.

Not necessarily. If somebody is offering me a free vacay in Orlando I’m doing it. I Don’t blame kids for taking visits

But it's not just taking a visit he committed. I don't care if a kid visits everywhere lol.
I’ll take the commit but understand that I need to keep recruiting other guys. I’m not saying I like him taking more visits but if in his shoes I’ll let people continue to wine and dine me. I’m not sure we’re in the position of cutting a guy like him loose for taking another visit.

Especially from places that we never play in. Move to the Big Ten really hurt southern recruiting.

Orlando and Florida suck. Unless you are on the beach it's really a wreck of a place. Even then, it's built on swamp land and sinkholes. Muggy, buggy and full of crazies.

Love SW Florida as a winter vacation spot. Have no desire to ever go back to Orlando. Traffic made me want to murder people.

I had a lot of fun in Orlando a little over a year ago. Granted I was there in January if I recall correctly. Spent most of our time at collegiate dance championships then eating and drinking at the Disney adult area. House of Blues and some great restaurants. Stayed across the street. Wouldn’t want to live there BUT I sure would take a free college visit there.

compared to the glitz/glamour of, say, north texas? idk

if you're in FL to have a good time, you won't leave disappointed
Then I'm speaking for me. Orlando sucked. Miami sucked. Never want to go back.

Really tough to get
1. Southern kids out of the south
2. Florida kids out of Florida

Yes, I know Florida is in the south, but it's a different type of attachment to home for native Floridians who come from a place of economic hardship.
In the south in general, it's tough to get kids to stray too far from their parents.
In Florida, in some cases, it's what you are counted on to contribute to the family on a daily basis, especially if you are the oldest sibling in a household. It's important that you are close.

And no, we cannot stop recruiting in either place. We have to keep after the best possible players nationwide.

If I remember correctly, Kevin Steele played a lot of cards with Tommie's mom to help get his initial commit. It's gonna take relationships to get kids. Luckily, it seems we have some good relationship builders on staff.

He just got home from UCF and told me that he told Matt Rhule that he was going to take this official visit and Nebraska was OK with it.

McGahee also said that he felt like this was the only...
