Matt Rhule wins 1 of the last 2 to become bowl eligible. Next year, Nebraska wins 9 or 10 games. Year 3 has always been good for Matt Rhule.
I could see a scenario like this happening if it were to happen.I'll have what he's having
And if not, just move the goal posts yet again and tell the non-Johnny SuperFans to pipe down and trust the process.Matt Rhule wins 1 of the last 2 to become bowl eligible. Next year, Nebraska wins 9 or 10 games. Year 3 has always been good for Matt Rhule.
That's the best line I've read on here for a long time. Well done.I'll have what he's having
need to throw bleach on the program and rid it of all vestigesNot sure why people assume year 3 will be magical for Rhule.
Remember Rhule himself has said that Nebraska was different than Temple and Baylor. At Temple and Baylor, Rhule said the old guys didn’t buy in so he played young kids from the start. In year 3 at Baylor and Temple, Rhules investment into the youth of the program paid off.
Rhule did not do something similar at Nebraska. Instead he doubled down on the older guys and it is failing miserably.
Next year will be tough sledding. We have given a ton of snaps on the O Line, D Line, Linebacker and secondary over the last 2 years to guys who won’t be here next year.
Our hope for a good year 3, rests on major coaching upgrades, portal additions and some early contributors from this years recruiting class.
Just so you know, in year 2 and 3 at Temple, Baylor and NU his 2nd half of the season record, when you divide the first half and the second half is 12-24.Matt Rhule wins 1 of the last 2 to become bowl eligible. Next year, Nebraska wins 9 or 10 games. Year 3 has always been good for Matt Rhule.
Everybody keeps talking about how important getting into a bowl would be for this team. Sorry, but I have lost my optimism and enthusiasm. I highly doubt the fumbling, bumbling 2024 version of the Huskers the last two months beats either Wisconsin or Iowa, but if they do, how good of a bowl will they be in? Oh yes, I will watch it just as I have watched every second of every game this season, but I am starting to think whether another game is good for my health. The Huskers are not a fun watch. I went to the dentist this week and that was more fun than watching the game yesterday. (I am so thankful I get to watch the great women who play Husker Volleyball)Nebraska is 3-5 when you don't account for their wins against 2-8 UTEP and 2-9 Northern Iowa.
Nebraska's 3 wins are against 6-4 Rutgers at home by 7, a road win at 1-9 Purdue, Nebraska trailed 3-0 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd qtr. Many people on here will tell you Nebraska's best win is against Colorado but will simultaneously tell you Colorado would have a losing record if they played in the Big Ten.
Looking ahead to next year's schedule - Nebraska should be able to go 11-1.
I absolutely hate the body language and lack of energy he’s shown in the past couple press conferences. WTH is that?? Yes, we’ve had brutal losses, and this is a dark time. But Rhule hasn’t looked right since the Indiana game, so… that’s it? One blowout road loss to a surprisingly decent Hoosier team, and suddenly the entire program goes sideways and the head coach is projecting that there’s no hope anywhere?Rhule does not appear well right now. I suppose it shows he bat he cares and is feeling the pressure.
Yeah, that’s a stat manipulation that’s worthless. All decent coaches, even elite ones, have better first half records. Why? Because P4/P5 teams played non conference scrub games early on and harder conference games later. I wouldn’t read too much into that.Just so you know, in year 2 and 3 at Temple, Baylor and NU his 2nd half of the season record, when you divide the first half and the second half is 12-24.
In year 3 at both Temple and Baylor, the first half record was 14-0, the 2nd half 7-7.
His teams haven't tended to "light it up" in the 2nd half of the seasons.
That has definitely been true at NU as well.
There is something systemic in his process that yield these results at 3 different schools.
He physically does not look well eitherI absolutely hate the body language and lack of energy he’s shown in the past couple press conferences. WTH is that?? The head coach is supposed to be steadfast and lead the team through times like this. Coach Rhule slinking to the podium like a carbon copy of a defeated Scott Frost admitting that the team is just too tired to accept a bowl bid is beyond off-putting. Matt’s been through this before and should not be letting headlines or fans get to him, but (and I said this after some of his odd remarks following the Rutgers win) it’s becoming increasingly clear that he is.
Yes,still waiting for Iowa to win something in my lifetime.#sharedbig10titlesmatterMatt Rhule wins 1 of the last 2 to become bowl eligible. Next year, Nebraska wins 9 or 10 games. Year 3 has always been good for Matt Rhule.

That's a shame because Matt seems to be a really nice guy. He was given tons and tons of interviews on every network or podcast known to man, and he clearly loved it. He was the toast of the town the way he was gonna come in here and do what he always does --- rebuild a program, have a much better year 2 than year 1 then get ready for his really big year in year 3. Hasn't worked out that way.He physically does not look well either
This is clear evidence that coaches are able to see things on game tape that exposes his teams weakness and that he’s easy to read at that point.Just so you know, in year 2 and 3 at Temple, Baylor and NU his 2nd half of the season record, when you divide the first half and the second half is 12-24.
