My head says to root for Purdue to maintain a Q1 win, but we play Maryland twice and frankly I have a soft spot for them being the other outsider.

Purdue didn't play well enough to win. A team can never take a game for granted in the BIG. Williams shot 9-12 on field goals and 5-6 on free throws for 23 points. The rest of the team was on 13-38 on field goals and only 4-17 on threes. They just didn't play well enough to earn the win.

The endgame flow was a major pet peeve of mine. Purdue gets the ball with 48 seconds left, up one. 18 second discrepancy between game clock and shot clock. For reasons incomprehensible to me, Purdue tries to bleed clock. They dribble out most of the shot clock with no attempt at penetration, and wind up with a force with the clock running down. MD gets the rebound with plenty of time to get the win which they do.

We see teams do this a lot, and I will never understand it.

I think we wanted MD as the 2x RU opponent of the matchup. I know Purdue is teetering on the edge of Q1 but it's too early to start pinpointing that stuff imo

another case of a team stealing a win on the road, Purdue did it to Sparty..time it right and get it at the end.

The most wins any team has in conference is 8 (Michigan, OSU), Rutgers has 6. One win from having the same as 2nd place Iowa
