Anyone who thought that legalizing same-sex marriage would end the hassles is in for a rude surprise. Unexpected consequences are popping up all over. The mayor of Charlottesville, N. Carolina followed the Houston playbook and passed an ordinance that "transgendered" men, who "identified" as women, could freely use the women's bathrooms and changing rooms. The state legislature responded by convening a special session to pass a statewide law protecting the privacy of North Carolina ladies.

Homosexual outrage exploded. 100 corporate CEOs signed a letter to the governor demanding repeal of the state law. These were not small outfits, either: Apple, Bank of America, Yahoo, and Barnes and Noble all signed on. Paypal moved to punish North Carolina by cancelling plans to build a new operations center there that would employ about 400 people. Washington state and New York immediately directed state bureaucrats to avoid doing business there. Federal officials were scrambling to see how they could cut off funding for state programs.

At present, North Carolina is standing strong. Not so in many other states. Georgia governor vetoed a bill that would have protected Christian businesses from lawsuits if they decline to provide wedding cakes or photography services to same-sex couples.

The Washington state Human Rights Commission issued a mandate that all restrooms and changing rooms in public and business buildings be open to all "genders." San Francisco, California is proposing a regulation that would replace the signs on most single-stall public restrooms to "gender-neutral." Over 150 colleges and universities have already joined that club.

Mayors of New York City and Seattle have issued executive orders that all city-owned buildings such as schools, offices and leisure centers must allow transsexuals to use the bathroom or changing room of their choice.

Other confusion is showing up in sports where a husky, male-bodied "trans" reports for practice with the girl's team. This might be an advantage in non-contact sports like baseball or even basketball. But like one female Mixed Martial Arts fighter complained: "I've never felt so overpowered in my life," after suffering a couple of broken bones from a "trans" opponent. Even the International Olympic Committee has capitulated, allowing transgender athletes to compete against opposite genders.

Of the dozens of articles researched for this writing, one topic got little coverage: transgenders pay a huge price in physical and psychological health. Therapists report a 40 percent attempted suicide rate and 60-90 percent exhibit serious psychiatric disorders. Two in 10 had significant regrets about having transitioned, yet going back was not easy, particularly if they had been permanently physically mutilated by reassignment surgery.

When homosexuals first began to come out of the closet several decades ago, research showed that violence and disease cut the average life expectancy of the promiscuous male homosexual to a little over half the rest of the population. A recent study by the Centers for Disease Control reveals a shocking level of violence in the "gay" community.

The real surprise was the violence between lesbians. 44 percent reported either rape, physical abuse or stalking by their intimate partners. For males, it was 26 percent. The study also supported the point made in the Chick tract, Home Alone, that many who end up involved with the homosexual lifestyle were molested as children.

We are seeing in real life why God calls this sin an "abomination." Satan's fingerprints are all over the death and destruction that it causes. The demons that pounded on Lot's door have done a masterful job betraying America. Some officials are beginning to fight back.

Soul winners, if we stand for righteousness, others will be encouraged to follow along. Chick Publications has several tracts that speak to this issue. If we sow them liberally, others may see that there is another side to this issue —God's side

This country is going to hell because we're not a theocracy. I can't believe we let people in this country eat pork and shellfish and allow women to talk in church (and teach and sing).

Would you care to expand on "enlightened world"? I would be more inclined to call them the pseudo intellectual element of society.

He probably means those of us that believe in science and know how to spell "marriage".
Yes, it is hard to accept the word of anyone who is capable of misspelling a word. Let's have weekly spelling contests as a way to eliminate those undesirable people from making offerings.

In all seriousness, I don't like the idea of allowing someone to "choose" their restroom. We have already "family" restrooms in most locations, which can only occupy one person (or family). Use those. And if those are not available, then if you got something swinging below the belt, go to the men's. Simple anatomy decides it. If you get that chopped off, then fine. Congratulations.....:flush:

What if you (or a person) were "born a male", "got something swinging below the belt" as you say and sincerely felt on the inside like you (or that person) were supposed to be a female. You (or that person) have very feminine tendencies, etc. I'm sure you can appreciate that person not being comfortable using the bathroom with males, especially if you were about 13 or 14 years old. You would feel like a 13 or 14 year-old girl being forced to use a bathroom with males.

The bottom line is it has been happening for years and nothing was broken and there was no need to "fix it".

Yeah, but Caitlyn Jenner shouldn't be using the men's room at this point either.

After this first became an item, I remembered a HS football game that ended in disagreement. We were visiting team and a couple adults blocked the entrance for those acting like they would like to get at our boys(they really didn't but they may not have known it)

What do you do if your daughter, sister or niece is in the team shower room and you are providing door security and someone wants entrance who is wearing "WING TIPS"? Do you let them in or protect the door with every breath you have? I assume you would shove the shoes up his *** and send him on his way.

This has gone plain damned crazy when we violate the entire society to satisfy a couple perverts. It is maddening to think we would attempt to reorder society in such situation.

Then you have a mental disorder and need to seek medical help.

What if I sincerely felt like and believed I was only supposed to have 1 arm? What if I sincerely felt like I was put on this planet to fly off of buildings? It's simple, you may feel a certain way but that just doesn't make it so. I feel like all liberals are complete and utter morons. I realize that may just not be the case, there are likely a few of you who use logic and reason and not feeling. I haven't met them yet, but I believe they are out there.

In North Carolina it was the mayor of Charlotte that tried to fix it. The law in NC today is no different than it has been for 30 years.

Sorry. That person who "feels" like they are female but are born male should use the restroom that fits their anatomy. Again, sorry. That's life. This isn't a situation where someone is being discriminated against because of religion or race or ethnic background. This is about your anatomy and a restroom. Pretty simple, if you ask me. Making this an issue is pathetic.

There is a new law, HB2 in NC. If there was no change to existing law, then why was HB2 passed?

Charlotte Mayor got a law passed that allowed any sex to use any public bathroom. That was different than the state law. HB2 stops municipalities from passing certain types of laws that differ from state laws so the law is now back to where it always was, in a nutshell. If your contention is that things were fine and no law needed passed you support HB2.

That law went way beyond the bathroom issue, including local minimum wage laws at the municipal level.

People keep saying that but nobody is talking about any of that, only the bathroom issue and I am correct that the passing of the law was a reaction the the Charlotte bathroom law that was passed. I responded to moe who asked why a law was passed in the first place. Had Charlotte not passed a ridiculous law HB2 would not be in the news.

My point was that it was a huge over reaction to the Charlotte law. They didn't stop at trying to overrule that law. They stripped a ton of local power.

Not really. It was a law they already had under discussion so it was a quicker solution.

Nobody is complaining about all the other "horrible" parts of the law though.

I really wonderful if that was by design. Put something in the bill for the press to eat up (the bathroom thing) but also strip out a lot of state labor practices stuff and local government powers. You have to do a deep dive into the news to hear about either of those parts.
