Has stated he doesn't want his QBs working with anyone from the outside. Is he hindering their progress by doing so?

...needs to hang it up... to be let out into green pasture. The game has passed him up. Not 1 of our QB’s has developed under his watch!

To be fair, we only have Martinez to judge him on. You can’t say Luke hasn’t developed based on his freshman year.

If neither are improved next year then I think it’s time to conclude that he’s not getting the job done.

Well given his pristine track record of QB development at Nebraska, we should totally give 2 sh**s about what he thinks.

Maybe he should scrap the massive written tests and get back to basics and then he can worry about outside influences.

History is littered with the wreckage of those believing themselves the best.

It is obvious Mario is not the best.

Tom was pretty loyal remember he gave us frank. But seriously I remember coaches leaving but I don’t remember Tom telling any they needed to find new employment anyway not publicly
Corrigan the running backs coach may have been "encouraged" to "retire", but I don't think he was "fired". I think it was after the 1982 season. I was on campus in the late 70's and remember some players making comments about Corrigan that he was "getting old" and "not with it". I don't really remember if that meant he was having mobility problems or was getting forgetful or couldn't relate to the young players or what. When Solich took over for him I seem to recall he had some bitter words in the LJS about being put out to pasture and wanting to coach for at least one more year since he thought Rozier could win the Heisman in 1983. Led me to believe the retirement wasn't voluntarily.

There were some who were asked to move on.

It was Corgan.

Some rumblings that maybe Mario is going to ride off into the sunset. Any fire to this smoke?

Turner Gill? Joey Ganz? Curt Dukes?

if true, we should probably be looking in southern California for a guy with a lot of ties to the big high schools: St. John Bosco, Mater Dei, Corona Centennial, etc.

But yeah, going by Frost's past actions we'll get Curt Dukes or Wahoo-Neumann's QB coach that was managing a Runza this season.

Or hire an spec teams cord instead and change staff around

I think if we knew everything that was going on with AM we would find his arm / shoulder is the problem .

I think the bigger problem is our QB recruiting. Need someone that knows some people and has developed a reputation. Recruiting a QB with a busted shoulder was on Frost. But who is responsible for recruiting LM who only played 1 year of high school football as a QB? They also waited a very long time to pull the trigger on Haarberg which doesn't inspire confidence. Smothers kind of the mystery guy right now.

My hope is that, if this is true, we go after a real OC/Play Caller/QB coach. Like Mark Helfrich or Rod Smith.

You know Rod Smith is a guy that I kind of thought about when Illinois fired their coach. Their offense had no problems making us look bad the past few seasons.
