Man sometimes coach makes me scratch my head

Down 1 in the 9th we get the leadoff hitter on and with the #8 batter up we get caught stealing with a pinch runner coming outta the dugout in 30 degree weather instead of laying a bunt down.

And then get caught stealing AGAIN to end the game. Why take the bat out of our own hands twice in the 9th down by 1?

Has more confidence in our running game than being able to execute and drive in a run....
