I’m we assume that our starters will continue to play well together though their shooting will be up and now, I think the three named above are gonna be keys in getting us an extra two or three W which look like they’ll be very important. (Would like to have added Reiner but just don’t have the confidence based on one good performance.)

Jalen, Mag, and Caleb are our best defenders. Jalen esp against guards no one else is quick to handle.
Andre is always a scoring threat, a great addition if he plays within himself.
At 6’6”, 6’7 have the strength and willingness to bang and reinforce our rebounding.

Right now it looks like Pike has done a job as we could have hoped for in getting them B1G ready. Just hoping for incremental improvement.

If Dean can continue to “prove it” and Jaden can get a few more to fall which I think would enliven his energy and D we could have ourselves a very solid 8-10 man rotation.

Hyatt's had a good couple of games and seems to be pretty comfortable now. Like most others, I really like Mag. He's a hard worker, very athletic, and has a decent shot. I like Miller, but he's just a frosh so I'm going to temper my expectations of him. However, he does bring energy, doesn't turn it over, and seems a willing learner. And he has been a positive when he gets PT. Reiber had a good game and I'm curious to see how Agee and Oskar (who I think can be a nice player) develop as the season goes along. All in all, I agree with you that we can all be much more confident in the bench than we were a month ago.

The weakness of this team is the bench. We are 2 games removed from our starting 5 having to play 32+ minutes vs Maine because our bench was getting killed (vs. Maine)

Cliff, Mag, Hyatt, Miller, Jones ain't nothing........ 2023 baby...
That starting lineup would have Rutgers ranked at the bottom of Big Ten teams preseason.Rutgers needs to bring in from the transfer portal at least one scorer to start.

Well, my original point was about this year. A few weeks ago we had no bench. Now we have a bunch of guys who can contribute, not players who are gonna lead us to the promised land but situational, functional players.

If our starters had done their job in the early OOC games our bench would have gotten more minutes and would have been better prepared to contribute.

Excellent point. I'm sure coach wasn't planning to be nip and tuck in so many of those games.

I agree that we need to bring in a scorer via the portal next year. Geo and Ron leave a lot of opportunity that should attract someone B1G worthy

100% mental thing with this team I'm now convinced. No clue how to get "pysched" to play a much weaker opponent and THAT, for a team with some serious experience in RJH and Geo, is stunning to me.

Starters were fine vs. Maine. Little issue. The bench was putrid. RHJ and GEO are not part of the bench.

2 guards are a dime a dozen....no problem filling that in the portal
1s and 3s (3.5s) are a bit harder but we should be able to fill
5s are extremely difficult bordering on impossible. Forget Cj Gettys ever happened. It is really difficult

Miller will have to play 20+ minutes against Maryland. We need somebody with speed and quickness to guard Fatts Russell, who is extremely quick, like JY quick.
