I look At mag and wonder if he had 25 lbs more of muscle if he could bang down low enough to play the four ….
He's going to likely play minutes at the 4 this year unless we bring in a transfer 4.

Hyatt is the only real competition with Dean more the backup 5 and Oskar really the only other option

Next year’s team would greatly benefit from Mag really making an abnormally large leap in play this off season. Super athletic. He’s tough as nails. Seems like he’s got a little “killer” in him and I mean that in the most positive sense. If he can stay healthy this season…

He's probably already 220+, he doesn't need another 25 as he already looks strong, maybe 230 max. Reiber could probably add another 25 on his frame and wouldn't lose a step

Caleb’s return will make it possible for Mag to play more 4. I don’t think Mag and Hyatt are going to end up playing that much together unless Spencer ends up being a better ball handler than we’re expecting.

Ball handling has been under-considered on here in my opinion as a rotation factor. We almost never didn’t have a 2 of Paul, Geo, Caleb or Miller on the floor at the same time last season. Without Caleb - we would desperately have needed Hyatt’s interior toughness because we’d lose a lot of physical presence going with Miller or Simpson as the 3rd guard. Caleb’s presence changes that. Gives Pike the option to go with a 2 wing style with Cliff. I expect to see a lot of that.

I see Mag getting Caleb's backup minutes. I want one of them on the court at all times for perimeter defense. The rest of his minutes at the 4

Ball handling and shot creation are concerns. All eyes on Spencer and Simpson. Miller could surprise if he finds some offense. I do think he may be able to drive and finish or drive and kick a bit more than some may expect

Yup - the two biggest concerns by far.

Your right. I wasn’t thinking about the defense. Either Mag or Caleb will likely be on the floor at all times for this reason.

Probably comes down to Spencer’s ability to help with ball rotation - if he doesn’t have a decent handle, he’s probably going to have to sit whenever Paul or Caleb come out of the game. Mag, Hyatt and Cliff just aren’t ball handlers. I don’t see that changing year over year.
