Watched his film again. He reminds me of Henrich... locks onto a target and drops bombs! This is a big pick up. I am surprised we haven't heard more about this kid before now. Maybe he is more of a known in Nebraska.

Looks like that what he was being
Lots of great hustle plays, tough plays, and good pursuit in those highlights, but my favorite of all of them is his play recognition on the play that starts at about 1:49 to have patience and bait the QB into throwing to the RB.
Exactly. His head is always up and he seems to know what's coming. Football smarts at the safety spot is a good thing.

In my opinion, his style of play on defense translates best to safety.

Agree I like him at Safety or as a hybrid Safety/LB, although if we get a NT - he's a really solid athlete for the next level. 6-1, 200 lbs, 4.53 40, 32" vertical

He's a guy who can fill in on special teams very early in his career as well.

I think this is a really nice win for the staff

Addition - 10.92 personal best 100 Meters and a 7.18 60. Both are legit

Dang, i like the speed. Isn't he 6 '2? Will be an elite lb with that speed.

Just got through watching Union High, Vancouver, WA take the 4A Title (Biggest schools). One of their players, Husker recruit Darien Chase, looks like a pretty good player. I think we all are going to like him in Red.

I think he projects to outside linebacker and an excellent special teams player. This is the type of kid we've been losing to the Dakota schools only to hear about them as draft prospects down the road. This is realistically one of our best commits yet since he's a good player and we're not even using a scholarship to get him.

I can definitely see him as an OLB also. We'll see what the S&C guys do with him, but if he can get big enough, I think he's exactly the kind of athlete we need at LB. Can get into the box and make plays and can cover RB's and TE's and maybe even some WR's in coverage.

IMO, finding walk-on guys like this is gold for the program. Easy to give them the RS year with S&C, then when ready can toss them into the special teams and for depth, and if they have the right athleticism, they can even work into playing packages or starting when they are exceptional.
