My 25 year old son is living and traveling in New Zealand for the next year (in Auckland right now) and his birthday is coming up fast.

I am looking for suggestions for birthday gifts that don’t take up physical space. For example, one idea was to buy him some streaming versions of movies or tv shows. Another thought was a big gift card for a NZ restaurant chain to help him conserve funds but he could use as he travels around (they have a burger chain called Burgerfuel that looks amazing but don’t seem to do gift cards)

Other thoughts? He has a small camper that he uses for transportation/lodging and space is at a premium so not looking to get him “stuff” per se

Never give someone a gift card that can only be used at a certain restaurant or store, 43% go unused. Give cash or a "visa" gift card. If you go the prepaid Visa "gift card" route always register it and take a picture of the front and back so you can suspend it if it's lost or stolen. You can also gift them digital currency like Zelle.

If you want to give a physical gift they will actually use while traveling, get a portable power bank

Just send him your debit or charge card. He'd appreciate it.
