Doesn't mean our OL has to suck every year.

Doesn't mean we can't recruit some descent, big WR.

This team isn't terrible. We have some good players and played well tonight. But Amart running for his life like Tommy did and not having a descent WR over 5'10 is a problem this program should be able to solve.

It starts up-front.

OL takes longer to develop quality and depth than any position. There are some young players like Benhart who will be good, but they need a couple years of strength development and training table. Blame goes to Riley who was an attrocious coach and in my opinion far worse than Callahan. The talent in the system was nonexistent.

Still, we are not coming close to matching the recruting success of the dominant programs. It's almost scary to look at that list.

I just hope they have a better eye than the previous coaches in seeing a kid and knowing the recruit can develop both strength and size to a point they won't get pushed all over the field on Saturdays.

It's glaring.

There are some other bright spots on this team that shined tonight, but we have to get the OL fixed.

I would welcome 8 wins this year.

WGAS Clemson recruiting, those guys out-recruit Bama right now.

Let's take care of our House, starting with some semblance of OL masterplan that will get us out of this mess.

****, if our OL were even good I think we win 9-10 games this year, with this schedule. We're definitely 3-0 right now...

6 in the 2019 class. Frost's first class was with a short window to operate. Blame goes to Riley, plain and simple.

They have a wacky golf course in their football facilities. I think there might be a water slide, too. How can we compete with that?

we took 5 WRs + 5 atheltes + 4 DBs in that class
zero off lineman other than Farniok who committed in April 2017
that is a gaping hole

Look at Clemson in 2018 vs. Nebraska in 2018....try not to cringe.
Wonder if Clemson and Alabama are in compliance with title 9? You sure don’t see anything about either of there women’s programs. Clemson has spent millions to bolster their football program, are they supposed to spend equal amount on the women?

North Carolina should have received death penalty.

Save for a few teams such as Ohio State, Oregon, and USC (the Trojans have talent, just not great coaching) the South absolutely owns college football and will for the foreseeable future.

Nebraska and so many others are picking up what ever they can get player wise, but the Darth Vader grip Bama, Clemson, Georgia, OU, and all the other major southern teams have is amazing, and they're not giving it up any time soon.

I mean, they never recruited that well in the past but they were still in the same location...so it seems like maybe they hired a bunch of great recruiters.

It also revolves around a 300 to 500 mile recruiting base. If you look at teams that are and have recruited strong over the years and last few decades, they all have strong HS recruiting in their backyards.

Using OSU as an example, they'll have another top 3 to 5 class this year and their 2021 class is shaping up as an all-timer:

https://247sports.com/Season/2021-Football/CompositeTeamRankings/

4 out of the 5 2021 commits are from a strong 2021 Ohio class and they're supposedly close to getting 2 to 3 more 2021 high 4 and 5 star recruits and a couple are in their backyard (Ohio).

They're basically an NFL farm team and very hard to compete against.

Dabo's 1st recruiting class was ranked 31st his 2nd class was ranked 19th
Frost's 1st class was 21st and his 2nd 15th

starting with his 3rd full season Dabo went 10wins - 11 wins- 11 wins - 10 wins
2 orange bowls and 2 top 10 finishes

people need to back away from the Clemson and Dabo comparisons as fast as they can because I don't think the optics of those comparisons are going to be pretty, regardless of the timeframe given, and then we will have to resort to the "cheating" excuses or claim they play in a horrible conference while we ignore we play in the BIG West

Our competition and current bench marks are Iowa and Wisconsin ..

You're right, when Nebraska starts beating those teams on a regular basis, then the sights get set a bit higher. Until then..

I'd add that beating those two consistently, 2-3 in a row would dominoe the recruiting as well. Wins = better players = more wins = even better players. As it goes, just win baby.

Agree, in my opinion while yes Frost has some upper classmen grade wise. Development wise he was stuck with a whole team of fresh and soph due to Rileys lack of S&C and development. Our upper classmen just didn't get that 2 or 3 year of development under Riley.
