Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), Kamala Harris‘s 2024 running mate lied to voters during his initial run for Congress regarding his 1995 arrest for drunk and reckless driving. During the 2006 election, Walz’s campaign claimed that his failed field sobriety test and subsequent arrest over a decade earlier resulted from a misunderstanding due to his hearing loss from National Guard service, claiming that Walz drove himself to the station.
However, the recent release of court transcripts reveals the then-Nebraska resident admitted before a judge to have been drinking when a state trooper stopped him for driving 96 mph in a 55 mph zone. A blood test revealed a blood alcohol level surpassing the legal limit.
Contrary to Walz‘s claim that he drove to the state police station himself, the police report shows a state trooper transported the 2024 Democratic Party vice presidential nominee to a hospital for the blood test and subsequently to the Dawes County Jail, a fact corroborated by the Nebraska State Patrol. The Harris-Walz campaign has not publicly addressed the newest revelations.
