Not too much from either Wenyen Gabriel or Hamidou Diallo in the first half besides two explosive dunks from Diallo.

This type of game isn't exactly the best setting for Gabriel to show his talent as he isn't an explosive player like many in the Elite 24. He's still a good athlete, just not great. For Diallo as long as he stays in 2017 he will play in this game next year. I wold certainly expect him to start next year and he will get a better chance to showcase his elite athleticism.

A couple of other players Kevin Ollie is after are Mario Kegler, Trevon Duval, and Billy Preston. Kegler has been saying he will officially visit UConn along with visits to Indiana, Arizona State, and Maryland. He is going to be a very good college player and beyond. Had a catch and shoot three, fallaway jumper, and a layup. Duval is an elite athlete and guard in 2017. He had multiple great hard drives. Preston didn't do too much in the first half.

Some more complete notes now with the completion of the Elite 24 game:

2016 SF Wenyen Gabriel- He didn't get much playing time so he wasn't able to really showcase his game. The setting of one on one up and down play also doesn't fit his style. However, he did have a couple of nice long outlet passes. No worry regardless he will be receiving a major bump in the next Rivals ratings. Top 5 of UConn, Duke, Kentucky, Maryland, and Providence. UConn looks to be right in the middle with him.

2017 SG Hamidou Diallo- Everyone knows he's an elite athlete. He had a couple dunks, a layup, and a free throw. One dunk after he split a double team and finished hard at the rim which is where he excels. His jumper is progressing and is much more consistent. UConn will be in it with him until the very end with an excellent chance of him playing his college ball in Storrs.

2016 SF Mario Kegler- He's a very skilled and versatile player on the wing. Could play both small forward and some stretch four in college. He has a good jumper as he hit a catch and shoot three and had a fadeaway mid range jumper among a couple finishes around the rim. UConn, Maryland, Indiana, and Arizona should be receiving official visits as long as he takes all of them. It doesn't look like UConn is in his upper echelon but things can change with a visit and more time.

2017 PG Trevon Duval- Elite level guard with superb handle, driving, and finishing ability. He will be an excellent player in college and beyond. He was one of the standouts in this years game. Still early with him but it looks like he will have the opportunity to basically go to any college in the country.

2017 PF Billy Preston- He had a very productive night with many rebounds and scored in multiple ways. He banked in a three in the second half and had some put backs and layups down low. With time his mid range and perimeter game will get better. Preston was one of the four co-mvp's in the game. UConn has been in on him early but teams out west and down south will be very hard to beat out.

Neither Diallo nor Gabriel got a lot of minutes, but Diallo was certainly productive in his 11 minutes.

Trevon Duval has now leaped into ESPN's top 5 for 2017 as did Wendell Carter. DeAndre Ayton remains #1 in class of 2017 according to ESPN.

Needless to say I'm not in tune with the recruits like you Ozzie. So i looked up the Duval kid. I found him on the 247 site. I know it's meaningless at this point, but i get annoyed with their stupid crystal ball predictions. Over a year before this kids thinks about signing and it's 100% Duke. What a bunch of b.s.
