Lining up under center

I recall during the Northwestern game that Wimsatt lined up under center for perhaps a half dozen plays. I liked seeing that, I know Penn State does that, for example, and it definitely gives the D something else to think about.

But I don’t think we have lined up under center since, unless I missed it. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Admittedly, I’m biased as I hate the way college football offenses today are completely homogenized with every play being in the shotgun and a lot of read option, RPO, etc.

We ran a few plays under center this week. One was a successful play action pass if i remember correctly. Would love to see more of it

Yep worked very well. Play action for first time and hitting a TE in a downfield route. Worked so well we didn't see any similar action the rest of the way.
