I’m going to say there’s a 51 percent chance Caleb and Spencer come off the bench and Simpson and Hyatt start. That doesn’t mean the latter will play the most minutes by any means.

If you look at the way recruiting is going, barring injuries or illness, Simpson will never be a starter.
Simpson hit one basket yesterday and you want to move him to the starting line up. Really? He’s a good transition player. Iowa doesn’t defend transition well. This was a good match up for him not to be terrible. He succeeded in that respect and still only saw 12 minutes from Pike. And you predict next game he moves to starter?
He’s not better than Caleb at one single thing other than possibly beating someone down the floor in transition at this point. That doesn’t earn him a starting spot.

Not a sure thing, but if the trajectory continues, Simpson is a bench player AND that's a good thing, it means the guys starting are better than him. Simpson as a JR/SR as our 3rd or 4th guard means we're really good.
I doubt there will be any changes in our starting lineup on Wednesday. Coach usually likes sticking with his veterans who have a lot of experience. Hyatt doesn't care if he starts or comes off the bench. He has been wonderful off the bench in our last two games. He wasn't quite a hundred percent for a couple games before that because he was a little under the weather. Simpson will have three more years to have a shot at starting. He is very quick and he is an important part of our rotation this season in his first year. All of our guys are contributing and seem happy. They all get along so well. We just need to come prepared on Wednesday to get a game in the win column.
100% chance that 51% chance is 100% too high. If there were ever a chance something could be higher than 100% likely, that prediction being wrong is it.
