When you turn on CNN or virtually any mainstream media news station, you are typically bombarded with the idea of “Gun violence” being a problem in the United States of America.
The fact is: that’s just not true.
To quote John Adams: “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.”
One CNN reporter recently got schooled when she invited Gun Owners of America’s Executive Director, Erich Pratt on to debate gun control.

Obama’s Executive Ordered CDC Studies Have Backfired on Him
Obama likes to state that the CDC has been barred from doing “gun violence” research. That’s only half true. In 2013 Obama gave an executive order to give $10 million in funding to the CDC to study it. The results of the study seem to be factually correct because it surprised the heck out of Obama and everyone on the left (which is probably why you never hear the president or anyone in the media talk about it!)
Gunsandammo.com writes:
Here are some key findings from the CDC report, “Priorities for Research to Reduce the Threat of Firearm-Related Violence,” released in June:
1. Armed citizens are less likely to be injured by an attacker:
“Studies that directly assessed the effect of actual defensive uses of guns (i.e., incidents in which a gun was ‘used’ by the crime victim in the sense of attacking or threatening an offender) have found consistently lower injury rates among gun-using crime victims compared with victims who used other self-protective strategies.”
2. Defensive uses of guns are common:
“Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million per year…in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in 2008.”
3. Mass shootings and accidental firearm deaths account for a small fraction of gun-related deaths, and both are declining:
“The number of public mass shootings of the type that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School accounted for a very small fraction of all firearm-related deaths. Since 1983 there have been 78 events in which 4 or more individuals were killed by a single perpetrator in 1 day in the United States, resulting in 547 victims and 476 injured persons.” The report also notes, “Unintentional firearm-related deaths have steadily declined during the past century. The number of unintentional deaths due to firearm-related incidents accounted for less than 1 percent of all unintentional fatalities in 2010.”
4. “Interventions” (i.e, gun control) such as background checks, so-called assault rifle bans and gun-free zones produce “mixed” results:
“Whether gun restrictions reduce firearm-related violence is an unresolved issue.” The report could not conclude whether “passage of right-to-carry laws decrease or increase violence crime.”
5. Gun buyback/turn-in programs are “ineffective” in reducing crime:“There is empirical evidence that gun turn in programs are ineffective, as noted in the 2005 NRC study Firearms and Violence: A Critical Review. For example, in 2009, an estimated 310 million guns were available to civilians in the United States (Krouse, 2012), but gun buy-back programs typically recover less than 1,000 guns (NRC, 2005). On the local level, buy-backs may increase awareness of firearm violence. However, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for example, guns recovered in the buy-back were not the same guns as those most often used in homicides and suicides (Kuhn et al., 2002).”
6. Stolen guns and retail/gun show purchases account for very little crime:
“More recent prisoner surveys suggest that stolen guns account for only a small percentage of guns used by convicted criminals. … According to a 1997 survey of inmates, approximately 70 percent of the guns used or possess by criminals at the time of their arrest came from family or friends, drug dealers, street purchases, or the underground market.”
7. The vast majority of gun-related deaths are not homicides, but suicides:“Between the years 2000-2010 firearm-related suicides significantly outnumbered homicides for all age groups, annually accounting for 61 percent of the more than 335,600 people who died from firearms related violence in the United States.”
So-Called “Gun Violence” Is NOT a Problem In The United States, No Matter How Much The Tyrants Repeat The Lie …
I’ve written before that Gun Violence is a made up propaganda buzzword and that it just simply is not a problem in the USA.
So-called “assault weapons” are also not a problem. The actual number of deaths by rifles — of any type, not just so-called “assault rifles” (another propaganda word) — is so low it’s laughable that it’s a political issue at all.
In short, about FIVE times more people are murdered with knives than any type of rifle(based on FBI statistics for the year 2011).

CNN is just another Liberal news provider and they love our Muslim President. The Second Amendment was put into our Constitution for the purpose of preventing Britain from trying to take back the United States. It has worked very well for many many years. Look back in history when a crazy man named Hitler took over Germany. The first thing he did was to take all weapons from citizens, and we know how that turned out, DON’T WE !!!!

“Are you saying that with 30,000 deaths a year by guns that we are still safe?”
Yes, when you consider that 12 years ago or slightly less that there were 80,000 deaths committed by criminals with guns. Robberies, murders, drug deals gone bad. That’s a difference of 50,000 deaths NOT committed because of RESPONSIBLE gun owners and concealed carry!
Factual numbers don’t lie!

SO TELL THAT TO BARACK “OBOMBARDIER” OBAMA AND HILLARY “WARMONGERING WARHAWK” CLINTON WHO CARES MORE ABOUT THEIR “LEGACYS” THAN THEY DO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!
THE “UNCONTROLLABLE” BLACK ON BLACK GUN VIOLENCE AND MURDERS IN CHICAGO, HOME TOWN OF BARACK “OBOMBARDIER” OBAMA AND HILLARY “WARMONGERING WARHAWK” CLINTON, IS A PURE EXAMPLE OF “I DON’T GIVE A RAT’S ***” ABOUT THE GUN VIOLENCE AND MURDERS IN CHICAGO!!!! “AND THEY DON’T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“WHAT CHOICE DO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HAVE TODAY WHEN IT COMES TO “PROTECTING” THEIR FAMILIES AND PROPERTY, WITH LEADERS LIKE BARACK “OBOMBARDIER” OBAMA AND HILLARY “WARMONGERING WARHAWK CLINTON, WHO ONLY WANTS TO TAKE OUR FREEDOM TO KEEP AND BARE ARMS AWAY FROM US?
THEY “DEPEND” ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO PAY FOR THEIR SAFETY, BUT DO NOTHING TO “PROTECT” THE AMERICAN PEOPLE’S SAFETY! “DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
I SWORE AN OATH WHEN I JOINED THE ARMY DURING THE VIETNAM WAR AND THAT WAS TO “PROTECT” MY COUNTRY FROM FOREIGN AND “DOMESTIC” ENEMIES. AND OUR COUNTRY IS NOT SAFE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AMERICA AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE NEEDS A LEADER WHO WILL “FINALLY” PUT AMERICA “FIRST AND NOT LEGACY SEEKERS!!!!!!”

With 300 million people in the us, the stats are actually pretty low on gun violence. One is too many but the fact is that background checks do not work. Neither does any law banning guns. When are we going to wake up that people are the problem. For example, in the Boise Valley, we had illegal fireworks burning 2500 acres and a home. we had a bucket of explosive fireworks in a garage explode and burn a house down. We had an illegally made explosive fireworks burn down yet another home. Such fireworks are illegal and not even sold i this state. Yet in three incidents, people chose to break the law and destroy property. Just this morning I just read this morning about a boy in Texas who made a totally illegal bomb out of sparklers and blew off his foot, not to mention he may lose his eyesight. No state allows such law breaking stupidity. No gun is dangerous unless it is misused by a law breaking person. Come on, wake up. We have a people problem that we continue to ignore in all the hysteria.

Doubt that she Checked the STATS! It would show her how Wrong she is and not give her the chance to Bash Gun Owners! Would like to know if there have ever been any Studies on if the Guns were Legally bought or gotten off the Black Market!

Bull crap. Than they should tell that to all the people who die every day to gun violence. We sit in our neiborhoods when its not a big problem. But tell be again after this summer. Tell that to the people who live in the city where crime is a big part of everyday life.

I guarantee you that more people–who live in the inner city–die each year from heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and in car accidents then by violence of any type — especially so called “Gun violence”.
What’s more: those inner cities would have a lot less “gun violence” problems if they had fewer gun control laws. Fact. See Chicago for the perfect example of this.

The Armed Citizen
Why won’t the media show citizens using firearms to thwart violent crime? Why is it that, If law abiding citizen uses a gun against a violent criminal, its always buried on page 19 or 20 of the newspaper, if it appears at all? And why does the media try to hide the fact that firearms are making life and death differences for would be crime victims thousands of times a day? Here are some facts that the news media never reports on. Every year, more that 2,400,000 people in the United States defend themselves against criminals. This means that , each year, firearms are used 60 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take them. Of the 2,400,000 times citizens use their guns to defend themselves every year, 92% merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers. Less than 8% of the time, does a citizen kill or wound his or her attacker.

Because, as the old saying goes, “Good news does not sell newspapers”, the news services (papers, radio, TV) can’t sell good news. The more tragic, bloodier, violent it is the (more readers, listeners, watchers) more saleable it is, more money, ratings, ad revenue there is. Remember, we as a species are a bloodthirsty bunch.

I have a question for the young lady on CNN. If I am passing by and see you being assaulted, do you
A) Want me to intervene with my legally carried gun on your behalf?
B) Want me to just mind my own business and walk on by?
C) Want me to call the local authorities, Who might get there in 5 or 10 minutes, for you?
Your choice….
