Sometimes fans of certain teams go through life with blinders on and never really understand how anyone outside of their hometown sees them.

If you are a team that claims your biggest win of the year as Southern Miss, you are probably small time.

If you lose to the Ohio Bobcats you are probably small time.

If you consider the Ohio Bobcats as a rivalry game, you are probably small time.

If you lose to a team like Middle Tennessee State, you are probably small time.

If you brag because you were able to put 18K butts in the seats for a home game, you are probably small time.

If you are afraid of Western Kentucky University, you are probably small time.

If you lose to Western Kentucky University, you are probably small time.

If you get upset because stores in your Universities home town is carrying more items from a different team, you are probably small time.

If your teams plane refuses to leave the runway until you pay your bills, you are probably small time.

If you get excited over recruiting a 1 star or 2 star recruit, you are probably small time.

If your fans go onto a 1-AA teams message board and talks smack, you are probably small time.

If you talk smack to a team for losing to Oklahoma while you are playing Old Dominion, you are probably small time.

If you are in a Conference with Old Dominion, you are probably small time.

If you pay your football coach about $400K per year, you are probably small time.

If you lose one game in a season and end up playing Northern Illinois in a 4th rate Bowl game, you are probably small time.

Still baffles me why they're in D1..... Talk about the ultimate futility. I think the P5 conferences will change that back to where it belongs.

When I first ventured over to TITM, I did so to harass Hank...who is still spreading lies about our program on TOS. Anyway, before I realized what a bunch of jackasses I was dealing with I tried to tell them that they are suffering from tragically poor leadership.

Didn't they realize that they could have a very successful D2 program that would be perceived as a quirky and cute school that would also probably actually make money (albeit at a much lower scale) rather than suck tax dollars from the state? If you ask the university presidents, they will tell you that, from their perspective, these football programs are mostly large marketing programs for the schools anyway...they spend just about every penny they generate, but they bring in lots of students and alumni donations...that is why they are worth putting up with. The same could be true for Marshall if they just realized that they are not WVU, that they never will be WVU, but that they can be Marshall and that is not bad.

I thought it was good advice...those idiots could not see it.

It was that moment that I realized why Marshall sucks -- their fans have no idea who they are (or are not). Pretty sad, really. BTW, it was this advice, that really made them mad. Especially Meth Chemist...that guy does not want to look in the mirror. Who can blame him really...what a loser.
