Be interesting to know what his bonus has been the last two years. If getting to Omaha gets him to say $1.1, I don't think he's out of whack. If you look at the top paid coaches, they have won a national championship (Manieri, O'sullivan), built their program (McDonnell, Schloss, Bianco), or both (O'Connor, Corbin,). Not sure about Arkansas before Van Horn twenty years ago, but obviously he's been there a long time. Lemonis has definitely earned a good boost, but I dont' think it would be insulting if he was brought to $900k with his current bonus structure (with maybe the bonus bumped up some too. Not saying I would be against paying him $1 to 1.1M, just saying I don't think taking some time to ramp him up there would make him more likely to get poached by somebody.
Of course, all of this is assuming we are quickly eliminated in Omaha this year, which is my assumption as due homage to any indigenous people buried anywhere on campus.
