Now that the regular season is over, reflecting back - what happened here? Why no success just with the LeBron effect alone? Also see now where Walton go the bucket. Who is going to replace him?

I think it was multiple factors but the foremost was LeBron being hurt in the game on Christmas Day. Further LeBron is an amazing talent but is also now in his early thirties. It is going to be very difficult for him to single handily carry a team like he used to do, especially in a loaded western conference.

Purely speculation and observation on my part is that he also doesn’t seem as interested as he did in previous years. While he hopefully did all the filming in the offseason it wasn’t great optics that he released a tv show he produced during what would be the start of the playoffs.

I think it was all of those factors, plus the fact the entire front office is a clown show, from Jeannie Buss to Magic Johnson and all the way down.

Maybe its just me but I predicted there would be a dysfunctional **** show with Lebron going to the Lakers. He's bigger than the Lakers and bigger than the NBA. And very few all star type players want to play in an environment where it's 24x7x365 LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron.

I think it would be better to do a reality TV show like the Karshadians... make money off this **** show. It's going to keep going and to me it's true humor.

They only have one all-star caliber player, and he doesn't try on one end of the floor. That's not good enough in the West. I don't really think it's that complicated.

I'll chime in...

Have you seen the talent that's on the Lakers and compared it to the other top half of the Western Conf? It's absurd how talent efficient the Lakers were on the court and at the HC spot.

Luke Walton has literally done nothing as a player or a coach (assistant for 2 yrs for Golden State) that would peg him as qualified to be a HC in the NBA much less of the Lakers. He's not qualified to be a HC at any level other than high school in my opinion.

He got hired to coach Sacramento now...somehow. The head coach he's replacing won 89 games in 3 years as HC of SAC. Guess how many Walton won as HC of Lakers in 3 years? 89. I kid you not.

A bad coach going to a harder coaching job. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Having said all that, if the Lakers wouldn't have been decimated with injuries, they probably could have at least made the 8th or 7th spot in the West.
