We learned, again, never to give in, keep fighting.

Came back from 18 down at the half and had a chance to tie or win at the end, on the road to a decent team, despite playing so poorly in the first half.

Hopefully we learned to get the ball in Dylan’s hands at the end.

I had a parlay of us losing at halftime and winning the game. That ending hurt even more

Meh..disagree.
Here’s the problem

We’re okay with this game as the learning experience but the programs we aspire to be don’t have these “learning experiences” year after year after year

If we’re trying to be Purdue Illinois Michigan state let alone Duke Kansas etc … they don’t have these continuous EXPERIENCES

They win these games, their coaches makes sure they win these games and most of the time it’s not a doubt IF they’ll win

Agree. But we’re not Purdue or Illini or Michigan state or Duke or Kansas. Ridiculous to compare our program to those.

This is our first year with lofty expectations..and honestly with a very heavy freshman team..I think these expectations are way overblown.

There’s a reason many have us in the bottom half of the big ten.

Plenty of opportunities for this team..let’s see where we belong,

Hooray we’re Rutgers, we lose close to bad teams. Moral victories. Another disappointing weekend, season etc

People were hoping for a special season this year but now refusing to call a loss to Kennesaw state a disaster. Lol denial to its fullest..

Well with a screen name of finalfourorbust…I imagine you’d consider this loss a disaster. I think most people have more reasonable expectations..

do you think being outscored 40-15 at one point in the game is not a disaster

Losing by 2 on the road is not a disaster. Having a quad 3 loss on the resume isn’t a disaster.

Every year it seems there’s a wtf loss early in the season. And this board calling it an disaster..and losing their minds And in most years we’ve managed to rebound to make up for it. I expect that again.

If Rutgers doesn't reach expectations this season with two elite freshmen, its highly unlikely it will happen after they leave.

Hopefully there'll be a teaching moment. The way you guys played the 2nd half - you need to play like that the entire game.
We have depth to play a high pressure D most of the game.

What’s the alternative? Just give up? Stop being a fan? We all hate the outcome of this game but some of us still have hope for a meaningful season.

We’re 4-1 and likely won’t be favored in any of our next 4 games. Let’s see if we can turn things around after a bad loss. We’ve done it before.

Everyone on this board write us off in 2021 after THREE consecutive losses to Lafayette umass and DePaul. And we still played in march, very similar feeling on these boards today. Relax.

Keep denying reality
Not denying anything.

Reality is we have a very young who hasn’t played together for long at all. Going to be growing pains and learning opportunities..this is one of them.

To “expect” such a young team make a long run in March is not reality

If this was a stand alone game - you could just attribute it to a WTF game. However, the 3 games before that were concerning too. Our rebounding and defensive issues are only going to get exposed more as we now take a step or 2 up in competition. I think some of us knew already that this currently wasn't a top 25 team - we are going to know very soon where we really stand. If the way we've been playing the past couple of weeks is who we are we will be near the bottom of the B1G.

Ok. Maybe, lots of experts picked us near the bottom.

Certainly would suck but wouldn’t be totally surprising with such a young team.

We’ll see. Again, this was a good “humbling” experience for the group who may have been a bit too confident.

At that point half the board had us going 0-20 in the Big Ten. I don’t think it is a similar feeling today.

trying not to be too emotional…..our guys that can shoot are horrible on D and are guys who can play D are horrible on offense. Dylan has shown flashes of good D so he is exempt from the above analysis.

From a math perspective……if we are going to be 100+ on D we have to be a top 10 offense. If we are going to be 50+ on offense we have to be top 25 on D.

Have a tough time seeing the path right now. Ace and Dylan or anyone 2 players can they carry an offense to be Top 15-20?

And hopefully we learn to play tenaciously from the tip and not fall behind 18 against ANY team.

obviously hope I am wrong but I don’t see this team being very good this year. Maybe by the end of the year we are decent. Too much youth with the best players and not enough horsepower from the others.

So your expectations for the season are being of the last handful of teams in the tournament and maybe winning a game. Because that's been the ceiling for this program under the current regime

Like I said to him earlier I’m looking forward to losing the 7-10 game or first four in Dayton cause that’s what we’re okay with

where did I say I had no expectations?

I certainly dont expect an incredibly young team to make a long march madness run.

I do expect a berth though. Which is still, as I said, in our control
Yea it’s November so no **** it’s in our control. No one said it wasn’t. No need for straw man arguments.
