Last years team would be 1-2.

So much improvement, and of course a huge influx of new players helped. The coaching has been more than I could hope for, and it's very surprising Steve Pikiell stayed at a mid major for so many years. It's a Home Run hire, and yes,.500 would be tremendous success. It's the first 3-0 start in 8 years

Agree, I am thrilled w/ the coaching so far. The entire team personality is drastically improved from last year - last night the announcer said something about it being hard to match Rutgers energy. It is early so I'm keeping expectations in check for now, but could be an exciting season!

I would guess at 2-1. Drexel is pretty bad. And Niagara is even worse by the way.

I am excited but also ready for league play. If and when we are able to hit some outside shots then my expectations go up. As of right now we are winning because we are taller ( never thought I would say that). Once we get into league play that advantage goes out the window.

I know it is early but our rebounding difference over our opponents is amazing so far. The last 2 games we won the battle of the
boards by 29 &19 rebounds. We must be one of the top teams in the nation for stats on rebounding. What a difference a year makes and a new staff makes.

I just checked the NCAA stats and we are #7 in the nation in rebounding before last night's game.

I'm not..we need as many of these easy matchups as possible..this team has lacked confidence and 10 easy games is a good way to make them forget. If we went into big ten play now and lost the first game the guys would be more likely to go "ahh same old same old". If we get to ten wins early, we have a chance to never give up cause these guys will say "we scrape together 8 more and we could have a postseason"

Good and bad.....as Pikiell said in his presser, "it means we are missing too many shots". but, it's still great to get the OREB off misses and leading the country. I like how Freeman, Sa, Laurent and Gettys are battling....even the guards like Williams. Also, a good sign that Doorson had a big put back off a miss against DePaul.

you can't control a missed shot after it leaves your hand....you can control how hard you go after it.

If we are not a jumpshooting team, then let's not pretend to be. If crashing the boards is one of our strengths, then so be it. At this point in my Rutgers fandom, I don't care how we get W's, as long as I see maximum effort and an organized gameplan playing to our strengths. Just keeping depositing those W's in the bank.

Coach Pike is the real deal. His attention to detail compared to the last staff is night and day.

In every respect, the team is better. Fundamentals, team concepts on O and D, effort, much fitter, all remarkably better.

I guarantee you Coach Pike has rebounding drills as part of his "coaching package".

It is really not even fair to compare this year to last. Even if EJ were here, given the same talent AND a full roster this team would have been significantly improved. Once you add in a significant improvement in coaching the two teams are not comparable. Thankfully we are on the upside of the difference. Think about how it would feel if the difference were reversed

Last years team wouldn't have had its 4 biggest players. Imagine playing without Gettys Doorson Sa and Freeman.
